I'm with you there Hobbes.  Their employment practices are particularly dubious.

From what I've read I'd have to agree.

My particular beef with them is that they quote a very low price and then when you look at it in detail that price is for the Kindle version. Quite often for non fiction books the lady in my local bookshop can quote me as good a price for the hard back copy as Amazon's

I've also saved money ordering directly from publishers websites.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

During my lunch hour today I wandered into the Ian Allan bookshop in Waterloo.

Didn't realise it was still there.

Do they still have a small selection of kits and tools ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

They seem to have more than they did 10 years ago! Nice select range of kits, mostly armour and a few Airfix. Tool wise it's about the same as Hobbycraft. These will also work well for the model railway crowd who really use the place.

Odd book I saw in there was The Secret History of KGB Spy Cameras. Every time I visit Ian Allan somebody has written and published work on the most random and surprising topics possible. Previously it was The Modern Hotel in Britain, a study of changes to UK hotels in the 20thC.

Cheers Nick

I'll pop in next time I'm going through Waterloo

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

According to Crecy.co.uk, American Secret Projects will be available from April 30th.

Thanks.  The release date has danced about a bit in Amazon. It was supposed to be January when it was ordered, it's now listed as unavailable, I guess that explains it.

My Library has grown by quite a bit thanks to a friend of mine here in the states. I'll post about them as I check them out.

Had this one for quite awhile. It's not exactly full stories as much as it is detailed descriptions of places and entities supposedly from this man's dreams. I'm normally not a fan of dark stuff at all but this is a bit different and I dig it. I haven't read much but already one of the shorts I was reading reminded me of a fictional story my father told me long ago when I was about 6 years old about a lake with no bottom....

Eager to read some more when I find the time.
