That's the green one, yes?

And a VW/Porsche Supervan sounds a GREAT idea, go for it.

Correct Kit, Cobolt Green according to Tamiya. I can remember watching the Flat nosed Martini sponsored Porsche and the orange Jaegermeister One at Brands hatch in the late eighties..... and possibly the Vallient one too.

And funnily enough I'm expecting a Revell VW Transporter Van with Jaegermeister transfers to arrive tomorrow..... ;D

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

....unless the rest of you get there first.

Darn it, and here's me a couple of hundred miles away.  :banghead:

Installing a Porsche flat 6 is quite a popular conversion for VW Transporters. Porsche even did an official one at some point (the B32).
The T1-3 are obvious candidates, but you can also get the newer ones converted. The T4 and up are originally front wheel drive, they're converted to RWD with a new rear subframe with the engine and gearbox - and quite a bit of metalwork to get it all to fit. Any Porsche engine variant you want, including silly-bhp Turbo variants...

Free to good home (that's me then ;D) From the heating supplies company my son works at,
A Tamiya Porsche 934 Turbo RSR in Vaillent Racing colours. 1/24 scale.
Vaillent is a German heating company and apparently these were to be given away to customers.
Sort of wondering if I could combine it with the Revell VW Transporter van as a German version of Supervan.

That's not to bad Kit considering Argos after telling me none of my local Argos pick up points had what I was after suggested the nearest one was only 93 miles away and the ironies of ironies was that it's in Leicester ! No wonder they've still got one  :-X The UK lads will know what I mean by that comment

Arrived today, Airfix Typhoon, the one with the sharks mouth on it. Probably real world,
Unless I give it to 112Sqn instead of their mustangs?
And Revell VW T1 panel van in 1/24, might get a Porsche engine transplanted.

Keith

Much to my surprise and delight, I have just acquired a Matchbox Wellesley from a charity shop in Hereford. Box still has the original seals, unopened, and only £1.99.  It will become an ultra long range reconnaissance machine, probably operating in the Middle East, or possibly in the Carribbean .......backstory currently in planning.

If you should happen to pass the  British Heart Foundation shop in Eign Gate in Hereford, they say that they have just received 6 large boxes of kits as a donation......my Wellesley came from the top layer of the first box.   I'll be looking in there regularly as further boxes are unpacked....unless the rest of you get there first.

If you were to go on a 'fact finding mission' to said shop, make an inventory and post it up.....

Snaffled on ebay - turned brass Olympus 300 series exhausts.  They look fantastic!

I've built a couple and it's a nice kit. The option to have one or both of the gun bays open is nice and looks good with some delicate brush work.

A 112 Sqd one would throw a fair few people as it would only be the squadron codes that would make it a Wif ?
