My bargain  Esci sea harriers  arrived  this afternoon.  It is different to  the one I sold a few years back in that it doesn't have the sea eagles in, not that it matters much.
Chris

If I remember correctly only the Hasegawa Sea Harrier came with Sea Eagles.

Gondor

The Airfix FA2 also has them.

Won another 1/72 Monogram Convair B-36 Peacemaker,  glazing missing on eBay.Seller agreed to my offer.  The wings will be fitted to a B-52G and a new nose for the B-36.

The Brigade Models Spitfire XII conversion kit arrived that I won on ebay, and very nice it is too.

I'd forgotten HOW nice since I bought the first one I saw some years back, but without noticing it was in 1/48 scale.................  :banghead:

Tip: It will take the Airfix I/Ia/IIa/Va wing and internals, and quite possibly the new Vc wing too.  Mk IXc wing would require surgery (as would tailplanes, possibly) and a new oil cooler but it quite usable otherwise.  I'd use them any day over the vile garbage that is the Italeri Vb.

TBH, if I'd known you were after one, I'd have happily sent you one of mine.  And quite possibly an Aeroclub one too, which IMO is vastly superior, despite being a vacform.

Anyhoo, these arrived from ebay:
Plastic Precision Miles Hawk Major (RAF boxing) - basically an early Magister with a bigger tail and a trousered u/c.  There's a scheme for an RAF aerobatic team Magister that I'd like to use.

Croco Models Miles Gemini - looks a bit like a Proctor but with twin engines and a twin tail.

I knew you'd know the best mix of bits to go with it Lee, thanks very much.

I wasn't actually looking for that XII, I just came across it a day before the end of the auction and figured it'd go better in my Loft than stay in the sellers place, and no-one else seemed to want it. It would have been rude not to bid on it.  ;D

Somewhere I think I have an Aeroclub XII, I'll have to take a look-see.......
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I haven't actually fitted an Airfix IXc wing to the Brigade XII, but I did do a IVa in mid/late war training colours using the mk Ia wing and Va oil cooler, so I do know that the IIa/Va bits will fit.

Yo'll need to replace the prop blades as they're hideously overthick.  Almost scale railway sleepers.

I did see the mk XII but wasn't tempted - I've about half a dozen or so of them or the Seafire XV (it's exactly plastic the same bar decals and instruction to use the vile Italeri IX - just check out the Seafire mods on the fuselage, except they've fallen into the same trap as CMR and depicted them as recessed lines rather than raised panels which they actually were!), plus a similar number of Xtrakit XIIs and god only knows how many Aeroclub ones.  And several resin noses too, plus that odd white metal one I was given some years back.

There's also a box with the bits for a pair of Model News kits, but I really don't want to go there.  The appeal of a vacform is greater...

Oh, the pair of Airfix Swifts I ordered from ebay have *finally* turned up.

One is going to be the early production PR6, which is just a camo change, as my in service PR6s all carry the capability for nose cameras as well as those in the former weapons bay.

AMT 1/25 Silhouette show car and trailer.  I'm counting it as two kits for the price of one as I've got ideas for both.  Either will work for the 1WGB.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

An big box arrived from the eBay Fairy today thanks to a steal on a mixed lot...I bought the lot for the Trumpeter Seahawk and maybe one or two of the others, but will probably sell on most of them.

1/48 Trumpeter Seahawk FGA.6
1/48 Occidental T-6G
1/48 Monogram F-80B
1/48 Tauro Macchi MC202
1/48 Czech Model FJ-1 Fury
and I think the most obscure of the lot, 1/72 ZTS PZL-37 Polish bomber.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

The Wooksta!

The ZTS one will be a 70s kit.  Probably wildly inaccurate but will have a fair few parts.

Oh, it's the Los.  I had that kit a long time ago and it's quite nicely moulded.  Restrained raised panel lines and reasonably well detailed - optional twin and single fin tails.  Italeri or Heller late 70s standard.  IIRC it's still available in a Misterkit boxing.

I only have it because it was in with a lot that had a few kits I DID want at a good price, but I'm surprised at how nice it looks in the box.  It's an odd light blue plastic but quality definitely looks on par with some of the good 70s Airfix stuff.  It's not my area of interest or scale, but I'm sure I'll find someone who can put it to good use.  If anyone on here is interested speak up.

The Macchi on the other hand has mold quality looks very iffy and at first glance it has panel lies that would make Mr Matchbox blush.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

The Wooksta!

Yeah, I had that Tauro kit and couldn't wait to get rid of it.

ZTS are IME not the worst of the Eastern European kit makers.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Yup I've a couple of boxing's of that kit, but they've been superseded by the IBG kits, which if anything are slightly over complicated.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Zvezda 1/350 Golden Hind.  For me & daughter 1A to do as we're both at home due to the Vivid business.  Her first model was the diddy Airfix Mary Rose, she's getting a liking for tall ships.

I've tried to get her twin sister (1B) on board, she's not interested in the slightest!
