The Wooksta!

Said parcel from Colin at Freightdog has arrived and contained the following:

1 x Uranium bomb for Bf 109K - but that wasn't for me and it got passed along to it's owner, who will be putting it under a Ta 152H, which would have a better chance of getting the weapon to it's target and the necessary height to survive the blast/shockwave.

1 set WE177s - these are for the awaited new tool Vulcan, which is going to be XM594 from the apocalyptic "Last flight of XM594" (see elsewhere on site for more details)
1 WE177 Buccaneer conversion.  Intended to go in the wider "Protect & Survive" universe that the 594 exists in.  This is to go on the new tool Brick dropping said lethality on WarPac troops in Germany.
1 RAF Mustang IV conversion for the Airfix F51D kit - I still want to do an Indian Air Force Mustang as there were 150 crated there at the end of the war.

And several Hunter P.1109B sets, albeit sans missiles.

Just awaiting a set of Vulcan jetpipes now, so another Vulcan (albeit the old tool one) to go alongside XM594.

I have one in the stash listed to become a RAN FAA aircraft.  I like them because of the "shot itself down" story.
I read about that the other day, I bet nobody thought that  could  ever happen.  A serious  rethink  of the ballistic  performance of  gun ammo would be on the cards I  dare say

Apparently it's happened a couple of times, at least those times people have confessed to it as I think it's something you'd rather keep "stumm" about  ;). At least once to either an RAF Vampire or Venom, or so I've been told.

The one thing you can normally guarantee with Italeri kits no matter how old they are is that you will get a really good transfer sheet with some attractive options.

I agree, Chris. Their transfers are always good and normally of interesting subjects.

It is very rude not to buy anything.
What does the big green sticker say?  It looks like a local addition.

Yes, very rude indeed. ;)
And I always try to buy something there to contribute to the store's income and help it stay open, even more so in these days where the local economy has been so hurt by the Covid crisis.
The sticker is added by the distributor with info of the product being unassembled and not being a toy, only for 14+ users.

Thanks mate.  Is that a local legal requirement or just something the distributor does because they think it is helpfull?

The Wooksta!

Another Gulf Buccaneer won on ebay and snaffled a Dragon DH Venom NF from Kingkit.  The latter isn't particularly accurate, but the more accurate alternative is three times the price.  Sex, travel and their mothers, is all I'll say there.

The decals for my Eagle in the Falklands builds are now on order.

Not 100% sure but, with Italeri being an European brand, I believe they have all the required info printed on the boxes but these stickers contain some additional info plus the regular info in other European languages that aren't included on the original box.

A box from BNA Modelworld today.

This one I blame squarely on Lee.  Looks good in the box.

This one I already have in the RAAF landplane boxing, but when they brought out this version I got sucked right in and had to have one.

PR19_Kit

Yet AMOTTHER M'box Meteor kit. For some reason my 'PR19 Bits Box' doesn't have a single Meteor nose wheel, thus the purchase.

Plus a whole bunch of 'Humbrol equivalent' acrylic paints from Roots Model Paint, just to see how 'equivalent' they are.

Just acquired a  Heller 2 seat Viggen  for  reasonable money.  I am thinking of  making an arrestor hook for this and doing it  fleet air arm  on the 1970's. SNEB  pods and bombs or, early in service  skyflash missiles and a centre line gun pod , and drop tanks.

The only thing really wrong with the SH Vampires are the intake fairings - they nip in too much.  Apart from that, lovely kit.

Two 1/72 Academy kits, a F-35A and an AH-64, arrived today from Moritz' sale via Carl (The Big Gimper).
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

I see that Special Hobby is getting a lot of attention from some us on here...
Ordered today from Model Hobbies in the UK, Special 1/72 Hobby Mirage F.1CR, a pair of PJ Martin Baker Mk.10 ejection seats and also the brass pitot and angle of attack probe from Master.
To complete the AM investment for the F.1 kit, a Yahu instrument panel is also coming from the UK from trinitymews2.
The PJ seats will be used both on the Mirage F.1 and on the 5PL i'm currently building...

An SAC Shackleton MR2 landing gear set and some resin exhausts, both destined for my Avro Leeds, if they fit anyway..............

I'm a big fan of Yahu instrument panels, nice simple and effective drop in panels, especially if you have an open canopy. Good price as well IMHO.
