My friend drives a Ferrari tractor at work. Lamborghini also make tractors and that is how they started out.

Maybe that's why the UK car industry is so bad - we didn't start out by building tractors?

Leyland did build tractors, as did  Ferguson and David Brown.  JCB still do!  My great uncle had an old Field Marshall tractor on his market garden that was started with a blank shotgun cartridge.......and if it wasn't properly fitted it would shoot across the yard and scare the living daylights out of the poultry.

I think that was called a Coffman Starter.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Ford built tractors at their Basildon plant too. They were one of my customers until they sold the business to someone else in the late 90s.

It was taken on by New Holland. On my trips to 'Bas Vegas' we'd laugh at the road signs for the Tractor Plant.

Basildon has such pretensions for a New Town - they even have a Hollywood style sign as you drive in!

Oh yes, New Holland. Thanks.

They inherited all the test rigs we'd installed but Ford took all the testing staff back to the Dunton R&D site, so we made a small fortune running training courses for all the new recruits at the Tractor Plant.  ;D

While in my LHS, Antics in Gloucester, I was perusing the kit shelves as you do, even though not intending to buy anything, when the shop guy showed up with a box full of new kits to file away. One of them was an Italeri 1/72 F-35B in RAF/FAA markings amongst others, and it never made it onto the shelf.

Somehow it seems to have been diverted into my shopping bag in exchange for a considerable amount of Sterling....................... ;)

I'm already thinking about making the wings longer, adding a few cameras and painting it ANYTHING but grey!  :banghead:

Green and white, perhaps?

Cheers,

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

An RAF version in NATO Green/Lichen Green would certainly work well, too?

The Standard Motor Company (later Standard Triumph, then merged into British Leyland) built Grey Fergies between 1946 & 1956.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I was helping a friend clean out his old house today. It's been left to rot for almost three years. By the time I got there they had a few clear ( thankfully )  bags already filled that I was taking to the dump. In one bag I see a new tool 1/48 scale Avro Arroe box ! I ask if there's a kit in there he says he doesn't think so that bag is all full of broken glass etc. Needless to say, I checked the box, and have inherited a complete and kit in unopened bags ! Cool  It pays to help your friends
