It seems 'signed for' packets in the UK are being accepted as having arrived if the postie adds their own signature with the caveat 'Covid-19' added too!

I've not had any experience of this myself yet, but I've had three people tell me so.
They have stopped using the pad for your signature at the Royal Mail depots as well.

When delivering parcels over the counter in the post office we have been told customers are not to sign for them so as to avoid us coming into contact with them.  We put their names into the scanner and sign "CV" on the screen for them.
Of course this is all bollocks because before that stage they have handed us the card the postie left in their letter box along with their ID.
We have also been instructed to continue to try to sell them a signature on delivery when they lodge a parcel.

Today I stood there and watched an elderly male customer lick his fingers before pulling notes out of his wallet and hand them to me.  I suppose I should have said something but I really couldn't be bothered so I just took it, put it in the till and then went and washed my hands.
I probly then gave it as change to the next customer...

Our buddy Old Wombat has sent along a care package with a delightful surprise!!   I normally HATE surprises but I like these kinds.  ;D

I was expecting Il-96 Airliner (and these aren't the easiest things to get ahold of, either...  Not impossible, but not easy for a reasonable price) but there's a Kfir in there too and you know I love me some Israeli stuff!  And fancy that, I don't have one.... now I do!   :-\

Thanks, Guy!!! I've only bought maybe 5-6 models the last half year so this was a most welcome couple of additions for me.

Ah, a Kfir - SO much potential...

Many thanks to Colin at freightdog models  for  the purchase of  a flock of firestreak missiles.  They are in one  piece which  for me is a big bonus.  I have a few hopefully  easy build projects  coming up  for them to  go on

Yeah buddy.... I'd like to make one of the "Enemy Aircraft" in Iron Eagle that were Kfirs with red and gold (I think) roundels and markings for "Arab state of Bilya."

A small(-ish) packet from Big H stuffed with a baker's dozen of Quickboost stuff, ranging from Griffon Spitfire cowlings to every unsold Wyvern exhaust in the county.  ;D

The Wooksta!

As someone who has used them, the Griffon Spitfire cowlings are less than they could or indeed should be.

Won off eBay:
1/43 Airfix 3 car Rally set
1/72 Airfix aircraft recovery set
1/72 Revell Twin Otter with optional floats
1/72 HS 748 IAF AWACS

zenrat

Received from Old Wombat.

All the parts of the Airfix 1/72 Vosper MTB he is not using to build his 1/35 RAM SBS Fast Boat (as far as I can tell this seems to be everything bar the hull and deck basically).  Some are earmarked for the long planned future build of Captain Fat Hamsters Sky Pirate airship while others will, time permitting, become a more modern high speed torpedo boat - possibly a hydrofoil.
Thanks Womby, you're a star.

The 20 mm Bofors in that MTB kit is a little gem! It's the only bit of mine I've actually built!

Hate to be the one to tell you, Kit, but it's a twin 20mm Oerlikon.

Just a note on the MTB kit: First produced in 1972 & only re-boxed since (no changes to mouldings), I think it's showing its age. There's quite a bit of flash, some of the detail's a bit weaker than I remember from the first one I built (some 45 years ago), the sides of the hull were S-shaped, & nothing seems to have a very positive fit (OK, this is just the hull, as I sent pretty-much the rest to Fred) but I remember the hull of the first MTB kit I built seemed to almost "click" into position. Perhaps time for Airfix to look at re-tooling this one.
