Thanks Lee,
useful info as ever.
A brighter Azure Blue would appear to be a good suggestion for the early version
or what about Cambridge Blue? maybe AVM Robb went to Cambridge University?
Looking at a couple of more pictures on the web, the second version Robbs Spitfire seems
very dark, so much so you would think it could be RAF Blue/Grey. I also noted that the
Codes appear to be outlined in a darker colour in some photo's. Found another photo in
the dark scheme showing only 1 star on the rank pennant (supposedly taken at the Montagu Motor museum, so possibly re-painted)
for any one who's interested this web site has some interesting pictures of SL721

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

And I visited the man a few streets from work to collect the kits he put aside for me last week;

1 x ZTS Plastyk 1/72 PZL-37 A/B Łoś (decals have gotten damp at some stage but may be salvageable)

Thanks to ScaleMates for the images.

I've that in the stash, it's in a very pretty, bright light blue plastic, so if you wanted the transfers ?

Not necessary, Chris. If, when I get around to building it, the decals don't work, I'll just do something whiffy. ;)

Mine's both bright blue & a sort-of RAF sky blue.

A Los, nice looking aeroplane.

I once knew a guy who flew one all the way from Poland to France with a whole lot of his colleagues in order to escape the Wehrmacht.

And he flew it right across Germany to get there!  :o :o :o :o :o :o

Banking on the disbelief that anyone would be so Polish crazy as to do that. ;)

Apparently there were 2-3 of did it, amazing that they weren't shot down, but I guess the Luftwaffe didn't believe it was likely either.

Oh yes, LOTS of Halfords spray paint, enough to keep me going for some time, I'm pleased to say.  ;D

Well, most of the Luftwaffe was in Poland, so there was not much to stop them in German airspace or French border

Airfix 1/72 "rag wing" Hurricane. This will be Polish using the transfers from my Arma Hobby PZL 7

A sprue of F4U Corsair tanks, and other stuff too, from The Wooksta.  ;D Thank you Lee.

Destined to hang underneath my Double Pancake, when I've finished painting it anyway.

Chris, have you done any Polish Spits? Because they did order two just before the war and they were at sea when war broke out.

Yes mate, which is why I was surprised I hadn't done a Hurricane.

What about a Blenheim I to go with it?  Ye olde Frog kit is a nice one to just throw together with little trouble bar fairing in the canopy.
