Which one Kit? There's been enough of them down the years scattered across the UK....

The one which Lee mentioned in post #506, the day he first met me.  ;D

and an assortment of related aftermarket bits. The kit will be converted to a RAF C.3 and then given the 25th Anniversary of RAF Hercules scheme. The rest of the bits are destined for an RAF AC-130K, a wiff I have wanted to do for many years.

I hope you've got a big putty supply in hand, if that Flightpath C3 conversion is the same one that they've been selling for ages, it doesn't fir the Italeri conversion very well as it was made for the original Airfix kit, and they're different.

On my part, my new brushes arrived today and they look pretty good. Much cockpit painting has already taken place, but as I usually don't 'do cockpits' they're all very basic and rudimentary.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

As I've been reading about peoples comments on that, I've been coming up with a plan so I can use the two DB Productions/Flightpath conversions on the later Airfix C-130 kit (reboxed Italeri). I'm thinking of cutting the kit fuselage where they're supposed to be cut, temporarily join the center halves together, then make a bulkhead for either end (x2) then use the bulkheads to wrap the conversion bits around. Any modifications to the conversion bits can be made then I think, even to the extent of dunking the bits in hot water to reset the resin.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Thanks Kit for the heads up. This is a medium term project. The RAF AC-130K I think you will find amusing.....

just place a small order from a new online store someone reccomended

-1/144 Minicraft Douglas DC-3
-1/144 Minicraft Douglas DC-6B
-1/72 PJ Productions Belgian finflashes.
-1/72 Fantasy Printshop Belgian roundels (till 1940)
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

The Wooksta!

Ordered various decals from ebay, largely Spanish Nationalist, although I should look for some Spanish Republican for one of my Supermarine 224s.

Won a Star Trek Miranda class - not sure of the scale and it's a badly painted wreck, and I think it may be the Starcrafts 1400th kit.  That will end up as the USS Majestic.

Finally, won a CMR Supermarine Swift FR5 - I only bid o it as it was cheap!  I'm really regretting letting that Airfix one go now, as I'd like to convert it back to an F4.

Arrived this weekend:
1/400 USS Noa Clemson-class DD
- to be turned into USS Walker
1/72 Aero L-59 Albatross (Rhodesian Air Force)

OTW:
Bandai 1/144(1/72) A-wing Fighters (fighters are labeled as 1/144 but are far larger than the official length of 6.9m, they were scaled off the erroneous length of 9.6m)

Also, forgot the Heller 1/72 Polikarpov I-153 (White Russian) fighter. And I can't remember if I mentioned the Revell 1/230 Skipjack either early this year or late last year. But I did get a correct resin propeller for it, this year, so there is that, lol! It's being turned into the Piranha-class USS Devilfish SSN-666, from the DiMercurio Novels, as the model is woefully inaccurate for a representation of the Skipjack-class.

Pending:
1/144 Hasegawa F4F Wildcat
1/144 Hasegawa P-38J Lightning
1/144 Hasegawa Hawker Hurricane
1/144 FW-190A Strike
1/144 DML Tornado F3
"Mind that bus." "What bus?" *SPLAT!*

If you message me here Lee I can do you a deal for a complete Airfix one if you want one in exchange for something of similar size from your stash.

Airfix 1/72 "rag wing" Hurricane. This will be Polish using the transfers from my Arma Hobby PZL 7

1:72 Hawker Hurricane Mk.I, aircraft '4'/ Nr. 10.26 of 114th diwisjon, 1st pulk, Polskie Sily Powietrzne (Polish Air Force); Warszawa, September 1939 (Whif/Airfix kit) by dizzyfugu, on Flickr

Oh that is lovely sir. I particularly like the splinter camouflage and would you believe mine will be the same squadron  ;D, but in standard Polish camouflage of the period.

Must admit I've become a fan of Yahu, first thing I look for when I order a new kit nowadays
