*one day.  I am fascinated by that era of US drag racing.  Super Stocks. Factory Experimentals and the early Funny Cars.

Me too, but I'm lucky enough to have been around when they were running, at least over here when the US Drag Racing came over and showed us how to do it.

Dick Landy's Dodge, what a car!  ;D

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Ordered on Sunday and received yesterday from 2 Portuguese on line shops, the Tamiya Viper and 2x XF-1 10ml from HobbySector and 2x Tamiya XF-2 and XF-17, all 23ml from Hobby 351.

I thought I should support the LHS in this time of crisis.
Turns out he's rushed off his feet and business is better than usual.

Same here. The lass who owns ToyWorld in Mount Barker (I've known her since she started high school & her dad owned the shop) said modelling supplies & models were racing out the door, she was having trouble keeping up with orders ... like the weird bugger who ordered a box of Tamiya Light Grey Fine Surface Primer (L).

From the eBay Fairy, another of Mr Airfix's splendid 1/48 Hawker Sea Furies.  This one is earmarked for US service.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

There was a news story on the TV only last night in the same vein, a hobby store operator was saying how they can't keep up with orders. I'd imagine their problem is compounded by the lack of there being regular hobby stores these days --

Two more 'spares and repair ' in 1/72 from Airfix;
Fairey Rotodyne- the fuselage is in good condition and the decals haven't been scratched. It will be a rebuild using a variety of parts from the spares boxes.
Vickers Valiant B.1- it's poorly built and in need of some TLC. I have the Heritage vacform B.2 in the stash,  so it could look like a B.1 and a half.

There is that and... here in the UK the Royal Mail are struggling with the sheer volume of parcels that are now being ordered. Some of my postie friends are going postal at how much more work there is with reduced staff numbers and the need to not share vehicles. They have even decided to stop delivering letters on Saturdays in order to keep up with the packages.
https://www.royalmail.com/d8/coronavirus-changes-service

Amazon and Hermes have recruited hundreds more couriers. I've seen them with cars full of parcels trying to keep up with our orders.

All this talk of more people working from home and more shopping online just means jobs will move from stores to deliveries.

zenrat

Australia Post have just hired 600 new casual drivers (so expect an increase in miss-directed and missing parcels and subsequent rise in customer complaints) and posties are being "retrained to deliver parcels instead of letters".  Not sure what retraining is needed other than learning to press different parts of the screen on the mobile scanner device.
Moving posties from letters to parcels means letter deliveries have been cut to every other day and the priority service we all forget to offer customers has been dropped (I suspect permanently -  the new CEO wanted to get rid of it and she'll now have an excuse).

1 x 1/72 Mach 2 A.W. Argosy "1060's Livery" which is what I should have got the last time I was at Telford. This one to be OOB where as my previous one, in the brown and sand scheme, will become a nice RNZAF aircraft

I would  love to build an argosy but Mach2's reputation has put me off big time  and 50 quid  is a lot of money  to have relegated to  the pile of part built shame.  Yes, I  do have one  :banghead:
What are they like quality of parts wise please Alastair.
Cheers

Looks not bad in the box Chris, the build quality I don't know about yet and I can't remember what I read on Britmodeller where someone did a cracking build.

Being on furlough with full pay I have the best part of a months petrol mony to play with  ;D

The Airways kit will fit together and be less work.  I've had both go through my hands.

Wasn't someone selling the moulds for the Airways Argosy on ebay?  The Viking and VC10 were certainly on there.
