Just got a  cheap  Hobbyboss  P-51C mustang II of Ebay  to be modified slightly and  put in to Royal navy  service  during the Korean war.  Along with my D model  it will get the Griffon  engine  treatment, and possibly some  invasion stripes if I am feeling  adventurous enough.  This will be a surplus  aircraft from ww2 upgraded and used as a stopgap  ground attack aircraft.

That Arado was the kit that got me back into modelling. I'd popped into Beatties at High Holborn just to get some paint for my figure painting and saw it on the shelf and bought it for some reason. Cost me £6, yes it's still in the stash  I've also got the night fighter version.

I like the ducted spinners.  It's surprisingly small given the size of the box.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Yup I've liked it ever since I saw it in one of the William Green books

That seems a good idea. Grafting a resin Griffon on gives a model some subtle differences. I have done it with a RAF late war Mustang IV.

I was only going to go as far as changing the  propeller  on it to be honest  Trevor, as I  didn't know that there  was a resin Griffon  engine  available to do the conversion with.  I have  ordered some  late model  20 mm cannons  to replace some of the  .50 cals with also. Is there  a Griffon  conversion  out there anyone??

No, but there's various options you can try.  Best bet would be a Seafire 47 cowling and I think Airwaves do one.

Nick kindly sent me some 607 sqn Vampire markings, so with those, several copies of that sheet sourced off ebay and what I think I may have, I've enough to cover the 1081/Hunter/Jet Provost line up thats on the go.

No, resin.  If they still do it, it's based on ye olde DB one from the 80s and it's just a cut and shut down a panel line )engine firewall) on a Spitfire.  Firewall on a 'stang is different

Actually, I can do better - a quick look through a resin bits box has turned up a resin Seafang fuselage, which has a similar cowling but the corss section may fit the P.51 better and more importantly, should take one of the props I sent (have they arrived yet?).  You may have to do some cutting to fit, but it should work.

I'll try to get in the post tomorrow.

I have just had a  good look on tinterweb for one  and  didn't find one listed, that would be brilliant Lee, cheers.  The props have not  arrived yet, I am still waiting for a  few other bits to arrive that should of been here by now  too, I will let you know as and when they do. Do I owe you anything for the parts and postage  Lee?

A pair of Harro's (hobbes) 1/120 FASS domes were at the post office today, very nice too.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Thankyou Lee much appreciated.  This is all new and unknown territory for  me and quite a bit different from my  Honduras and Nicaraguan  cartel  builds

AeroplaneDriver

Box of childhood nostalgia arrived form the eBay Fairy today.  I've been building almost exclusively 1/48 for the past couple of years but when I saw a lot of classic pre-war 1/72 biplanes I was taken right back to childhood and couldn't resist

Monogram Boeing F4B-4-1979 boxing in sealed original box with the $1.99 price tag still on.
Monogram Goshawk F11-C-2-same as above but with $2.19 price sticker.
Monogram Hawk P-6E-open 1979 box but all parts present and intact.  This one I remember vividly as I built if for a school project when I was 10 where we had to make something following written directions.
Matchbox AW Siskin IIIA-sealed 1974 boxing.

I think my plan will be to build these and display them together on a nice wooden base or even wall mount them on a plaque.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Those Brengun two stage Merlin's might work?
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
