Monogram Hawk P-6E-open 1979 box but all parts present and intact.  This one I remember vividly as I built if for a school project when I was 10 where we had to make something following written directions. 

The only written directions I was following in 1979 were those on my divorce papers 

Seriously I have some very fond memories of those old Monogram bi-plane kits and the Matchbox ones as well, what with their, then innovative method of attaching the struts.

Just arrived 1/100 scale Plasticart IL-62 , this set has all the correct parts but the decals don't match the box artwork. I've got some RAF decals,  so it will be looking like a VC10isky!

Just got a  cheap  Hobbyboss  P-51C mustang II of Ebay  to be modified slightly and  put in to Royal navy  service  during the Korean war.  Along with my D model  it will get the Griffon  engine  treatment, and possibly some  invasion stripes if I am feeling  adventurous enough.  This will be a surplus  aircraft from ww2 upgraded and used as a stopgap  ground attack aircraft.

That seems a good idea. Grafting a resin Griffon on gives a model some subtle differences. I have done it with a RAF late war Mustang IV.

I was only going to go as far as changing the  propeller  on it to be honest  Trevor, as I  didn't know that there  was a resin Griffon  engine  available to do the conversion with.  I have  ordered some  late model  20 mm cannons  to replace some of the  .50 cals with also. Is there  a Griffon  conversion  out there anyone??

I say available I bought 4 or 5 from Collectakit a couple of years back. Wooksta's solution would also work.

I had a look for the airwaves conversions Trev, but nothing came up so Lee is helping me with my creation.

Thankyou Lee is, absolutely no rush for it, I am dimming my  bulb  painting the navy  twin pioneer, and I have  battled with  a CMR  Boulton Paul P111. Put it this way, I  am glad it had 2 fuselages with it

*in a relative way.  No modern combat aircraft is that attractive but some are better than others.
