I've never heard of GrandModels before, but just looked them up. That TF-102 conversion looks a real gem, I'd be interested in what you think of it Alastair. I've got 2-3 of the old ModelConversion kits for the Twin Two and that's OK, but very 70s. I wonder if the GrandModels conversion would work on the older Hasegawa F-102 kit.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

It says on the box that it's designed for the Meng kit but I am sure that you would be able to get it to fit the Hasegawa kit. I have a couple of the old XTRAPARTS conversion sets, set number 03 it was and contained Highly detailed ejector seats as part of the contents which I am sure they were at the time.

I am sure I posted these befor but here you go Kit, pics of the Grand Models converion set.

I have the apropriate decal sheet on order from Grand Models which will allow me to build any TF-102 I want, real world that is. The older conversion sets and Hasegawa kits will be Whiff fodder I think.

Thanks Alastair, that looks really good.

The Xtraparts kit is the same one that I have, Hannants bought the whole Modeldecal product range AFAIK, but didn't get their glorious Hunter T7 conversion for some reason. :(

Probably because they had plans for MPM to make their own T7 which I will need for the T.12 conversion

Howard of Effingham

A care package/birthday present arrived this morning from a warehouse in Suffolk.

1/72 Special Hobby F-86H [RAF Markings]
1/72 Special Hobby SF-37 Recce Viggen [also for whiffing. Been after a SF-37 Viggen for years. This is an excellent looking kit.]

Aftermarket u/c legs and wheels for the 1/72 Revell A400M Atlas

A pair of Blackdog resin 1/72 Chukar aerial targets. [Going under a HS-125 if it fits.]

Just some further weathering bits to come hopefully next week and that completes a different sort of birthday this year.

You'll DEFINITELY need them Trevor! The standard kit items are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.  :banghead:

This very set. The kit ones will come in handy elsewhere.

From the Big H in only a couple of days.  To both them and the Royal Mail

Special Hobby 1/72 He 162. Yes I only just finished one, but it was such a nice kit. This one might be Israeli working on the assumption that they were manufactured in Czechoslovakia post War and then sold on ?

AZ Curtis Hawk H-75A-4/5/7. Yes I am currently building their Mohawk, but I fancy the real world N.E.I.A.F. aircraft.

A couple of Eduard's pre-painted steel seat belt sets. 1/72 RAF late and early

Some CMK Razor saws
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

From the eBay Fairy, Revell 1/48 F-18E.  I'm seeing this in roundels with a big "E" on the tails for a Hornet FGR.1 on the catapult equipped HMS Queen Liz c.Now
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

The Wooksta!

Few bits and bobs have filtered through.

Revell Hunter FGA9 - removed from the secondary stash and shuttled across.

Modeldecal 100: Vampires - intended for RAuxAF Venoms

A care package from Colin, comprising a High Planes Beaufighter I conversion set, two Freightdog Hunter T12s, Freightdog Mosquito tropical intakes (and these look to be bang on, as opposed to Paragon's woeful attempt), 2 sets of Freightdog Spitfire mk XIV/XVIII middle east decals and some free Spitfire bits he had kicking about.  Very handy they are too - I'm already thinking of an RAAF HFIXc.

Finally, ebay says I've won the Xtrakit Swift/Vampire combo I was bidding on.  Yay!  And I snaffled a Magna FR5 whilst I was at it, largely to drop the belly tank into rubber.
