Zvezda 1/350 Golden Hind.  For me & daughter 1A to do as we're both at home due to the Vivid business.  Her first model was the diddy Airfix Mary Rose, she's getting a liking for tall ships.

I've tried to get her twin sister (1B) on board, she's not interested in the slightest!

How do Zvezda deal with the rigging Mossie ? I still have memories of trying to attach the Airfix black "plastic" ? scramble lines and all the other rigging, and their not particularly good ones. Especially on the really small scale ships they did.

Mossie

They're black plastic. When we did the Airfix 1/400 Mary Rose it didn't have any rigging which suited her for a first kit.

I must admit I found it difficult to find tall ship kits that suited her. The larger ones tended be old, badly fitting with rigging you weave yourself and vacform sails.  Newer ones (few and far between) were £50+.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Might be worth trying to get an Academy Titanic - the 350th one is big enough, has some good detail and whilst there's some rigging, it's not too bad.  Plus the history aspect.

Tip: don't drill out all the portholes.

Ebay says I've won the Airfix BoB airfield dio I was after.  TBH, all I want is the base (as an overgrown revetment at RAF Acklington in the 70s with a Swift F3 as a decoy), so the rest is likely to be sold on.

I'll have a look into it, ta Lee.  I think the next subject might be a Revell Space Shuttle as she likes space stuff too.

Finally delivered last Friday, picked it up at my parent's house today. Portuguese Marines(Fuzileiros) will be getting it...

Ebay says I've won the Skybirds '86 Sea Hornet F.20 I was bidding on.  Hell yeah!

Brings to mind the thoughts of a square rigged Space Shuttle sailing into battle with all its gun hatches open ready to fire broadsides............  ;D ;)

And now Fred will probably build one!

Hmmmmm.

Maybe after the Sky Pirates airship - Space Pirates?  A combination of an egg shuttle and one of the ships from the One Piece anime.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I though about it the other way round, with a winged, rocket propelled  HMS Victory rushing ekranoplane-like into the French line at Trafalgar.  Either way, it does present  openings for Whiffery.

From Ebay

Xtrakit Hawker Hunter T.7

I'm hoping it's a better buid than some on Britmodeller have commented.

It's arrived, and at first glance it's... Not good.  Test fits of the wing to fuselage are problematical.  More spleen venting on this and other nonsense here:

Newsflash!

The Airmodel (yep., you heard that right) Britold Brigand I was bidding for on ebay is now mine.  Or will be barring Royal Mail Bolshevism/stupidity/incompetence/laziness (delete as applicable).

It's very basic, but it doesn't matter as I only need the fuselage and it means I can do a production Bristol Buccaneer.  IF I can figure out how to do the revised nacelles.

The second Skybirds Sea Hornet F.20 I was bidding on, from the same seller, is now mine too.  Back of the net!

Another 1/72 Airfix rag wing Hurricane came via the Royal Mail this morning  I want to do this in a Silver Wings scheme, possibly a Gladiator squadron. Full colour squadron bars etc.

A nice little box from Colin Frieghtdog arrived this morning containing all sorts of resin goodies.

A Javelin FAW9 radome, a Meteor NF14 radome, 4 x Red Top missiles and a WWII Typhoon weapons set.

And no, they're NOT all going on the same model!
