Academy F-35B it is then

Are you going to put a prop on the front of it then?  :o

Nope I just fancy building one, but in full colour markings, maybe special markings for a special occasion ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Much better, with that all-over grey and the greyed out national markings it's difficult to tell one F-35 from another!

I've got the Academy kit (I think, it may be Italeri one) but unless I can think of something a bit brighter it's not even coming out of the box. It needs Whiffing anyway, maybe even LONGER wings than the C version?  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

I've built one of the Fujimi F-35B's as a Sidetrack variant (got a thread on here somewhere IIRC) but the other one will be something different. But the scheme I'm going to do it in will be like what the two-green Harriers got painted in, only with each green being slightly metallic looking so it has the same sheen as the grey ones appear as (if I can pull it off) .

First kit arrival in a few weeks.  Courtesy of Mr Squadron's 25% off 4th of July sale I finally picked up a Hobby Boss A-4E TRAM Intruder.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Just placed an order for an Academy 1/72 F-35B and a decal sheet with RAF & RN markings through Sprue Bros. Reading up on it and looking at the sprue shots, it has the gun pod too ---

On order from ebay in the Ukraine:

Pepelatz Blohm und Voss P207.03, which looks like this:

I've been waiting for one of these for well over twenty years...

It was only afterward I started thinking of a British version using an Attacker with a buried Centaurus and a contraprop on the back.  Must get that Swift nose done...

It has *FINALLY* arrived...

Oh, and some cluster bombs from Gondor arrived yesterday.  The Brick they're going to get hung from is already underway.

Me too I think after a closer inspection of this F-35A. Then some 617 Sqn decals for it --- unless it already has them  :-\

The UK has only ordered the F-35B not the A version so it won't have UK decals in it.

I think it needs Special Markings and a Special Paint Scheme. WW2 Lancaster Bomber Command scheme for example.

Why not reform 35 Sqn and use use the emblems they used in the 1970s and until disbandment?

You're not the only one.  I did make a start on a master to scratch one a few years back - 1998, I think... - but did nothing more than cut out the shape in plastic card.

Oh, and the Modeldecal sheet with 607 Vampires on it arrived this morning, courtesy of SideshowBob's decal sale.  I think I've now got enough to do all the aircraft I've got assembled.

Edit:  I do have the Unicraft* "kit" of the P.207.02 and it looks like one of his less worse ones.  I refuse to use the word "better" as that would imply an improvement.  No, still the same vile resin and low, low quality standards...

*This was one of the ones I got bitten with, the worst being the nigh unbuildable Bv P.203.
