I once bought a 1/48 Brigade Models Spitfire XII conversion kit, and found it a large for my 1/72 wings etc...... :(

Luckily a good friend is infected with the 1/48 bug and he's got it now.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

1 x Eduard Models 1/48 Douglas A-4E/F Skyhawk Exhaust Nozzle for Eduard/Hasegawa kits (ED 648215)
2 x K59 1/35 2cm Flak Ammo set (incl. Magazines, Ammo Boxes, Projectiles & Shells) (K59-C-012) - never heard of K59, so, hopefully, the ammo cans look good
2 x MacOne Models 1/35 Plastic Water Bottles (MAC35600) - can never have too many water bottles
1 x AMMO by Mig Jimenez Encyclopedia of Armour Modelling Techniques - Vol.3 - Camouflages (English) (A.MIG-6152) - hopefully I'll learn something to improve my modelling skills
1 x ICM Models 1/72 WWII German Bomber Dornier Do 17Z-2 (ICM 72304) - to add to my 1/72 twin-engined bombers collection

Arrived today yesterday! Shipped from COVID-locked-down Melbourne/Victoria on Friday; at my (near) Adelaide semi-rural PO on Monday. Not bad! ;D

The kit & bits look excellent in the box, & the book (although aimed at promoting MIG products) seems to have a lot of good generalisable (if that's a word ) information & techniques.

From eBay a Testors (ex Hawk I think) Ryan PT-20.  I had this kit as a kid but never finished it and I absolutely love the PT-20.  Definitely on my list when I strike it rich.  Very disappointed to open the box and find the fuselage/engine are assembled and painted, and not particularly well.  There is no cockpit, so I had planned on scratch building something basic.  Not an option when the damn thing is all glued together.  No mention of it in the listing.   :banghead:
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

I see that Special Hobby is getting a lot of attention from some us on here...
Ordered today from Model Hobbies in the UK, Special 1/72 Hobby Mirage F.1CR, a pair of PJ Martin Baker Mk.10 ejection seats and also the brass pitot and angle of attack probe from Master.
To complete the AM investment for the F.1 kit, a Yahu instrument panel is also coming from the UK from trinitymews2.
The PJ seats will be used both on the Mirage F.1 and on the 5PL i'm currently building...

Only thing that hasn't been delivered yet is the Yahu IP, that one's actually coming from Poland, not the UK like i'd previously said...

And this came from Germany exactly on the same delivery as the Mirage, brought to me by the Portuguese post service, the CTT. I can say i came home today with a nice load...

Just got my H.S Dominie T.1 from Airfix, bought because of the nostalgia more than anything else.  Had a think  of what I can do with  it and I have  decided upon something  completely different  to what it was used for.  Suppression of enemy air defences
The aircraft will be  fitted  with all the necessary electronic equipment internally, with maybe a  couple of  external  bumps here and there, possibly a 1970's  era externality carried  ECM pod set to different  frequencies, just in case, chafe/flare  dispensers  and a pair of Shrike missiles  or possibly  2 pairs. I  was thinking of it doing a  similar  job  to the U.S navies  EA-6B's as they carried  AGM-88's on some of their  missions.  I may even  give it  a tail mounted  electronics pod too. Wrap around  camouflage scheme  of course.

How about making it F.A.A. Chris ? Based on one of the Royal Navy's new "super carriers"  ;)

I'm thinking of getting the re-released Heron Chris. Partly for nostalgia reasons and partly so I can build the one on poles outside the old Croydon Airport Building.

The Wooksta!

TBH, I'm tempted with a Heron, but I've a pair in the stash (one's been part started and has been left largely untouched for nigh on thirty years!) and really can't justify the spending.

It wouldn't really  fit in my time line of it was on one of the new carriers  Chris.  I  have set my builds  from 1950 to 1980, plenty of scope  there but it stops  me(allegedly) from buying  even more kits. I still need to get rid of a load too. I built the matchbox version as a kid  but mine  fell off what it was resting on  while the wings stuck, and one wing ended up  a LOT higher  than the other, and I  couldn't get the thing off again.  :banghead:

I'd forgotten about that.  You know i'm not sure I ever realised what it was up there on its sticks.

Today, two parcels.

This was a surprise as it was on back order from Metro Hobbies.  It will join the PDRV Republican Guard.

And these from BNA Modelworld.  Seafire will be a NMF Spitfire 22, Mi-2 will be civilian.  Mi-2 looks, in the box at least, as good as the Hobby Boss Mi-4.

I bought the  Heron too as it  is a nice  aircraft  and I remember one  being in the newsagents window as a  kid, and I  didn't buy it as I was about to go away to my sisters for  3 weeks.  When I got home I had enough  spare  money to  buy it but it had gone, along with the humbrol Javelin they had. I am thinking of an  engine  change for my Heron , and its job will  be maritime patrol, paint it  in desert yellow and earth brown  as an RAF El Adam  based transport.

I've looked at alternate engines for the Airfix Heron.  As they house in line engines the standard nacelles are very narrow.
