Whilst trying to  get myself  a1/72nd scale  sea vixen for right money,  happened upon a Toko sea venom  which  nobody had bid on. So I  got it for 6 quid . I am thinking of putting a  pair of swept wings on it, and maybe an upgraded more powerful  engine  and putting it in  1960's  RAF  service.  The nose could  get swapped for something a bit more pointy  too, and arm it with firestreak missiles.  The sea vixen  search was an event all on its own , but managed to  find a frog repop on Kingkit for 19 quid or so. The cyberhobby one  I  wanted went for silly money and the revell one which is  also the frog kit repoped, went for more than i had paid for the kit from kingkit. Said revell kit had been  relisted on ebay as nobody  bid on it at its opening price of 19 quid, then it got relisted at 9 quid. Right sized hook and bait it seemed as I  got bid up to 20 quid  and it went  for £22 I think.

Ever tried Collectakit?  Sensible prices.

Do they show live stock or is it the site you have to  emails and ask if they have what you want.  I have seen their name mentioned a few times  before now.  Cheers.

The Wooksta!

There's a big parcel at me Mam's containing a Valom Vickers Valletta.  Hannants are charging 45 notes yet I got it from ebay for £33 post free - what's the Hannants trade price?  And how much are they gouging their customers?

I like the look of the Vickers valletta ans would  like to build one but my last skirmish with a Valom kit  left me with a thick ear.  Let us know  what you think of it  please Lee, especially the  fuselage  joints.
Cheers.

Valom's recent stuff - ie post 2017 - is pretty decent. If it's as nice as the DH Albatross - which I've yet to get to major component assembly stage, it'll be fabulous.  The new tool Firebrand TFIV/V is fabulous.

It's *GOT* to be better than the Maquette Viking, which combined a rough limited run injection fuselage (think Mach Poo but far worse) with the old Frog Wellington wings.  That was decidedly rough by any stretch of the definition.

I'll post my thoughts when I get it on saturday.

Cheers Lee,
The twin pioneer I  built of theirs was  a recent  kit and that had some  bad fit issues with the fuselage at both ends and on the underside too. I  may be a daft sod and get the Valletta  yet though.
Cheers

Good idea for the Sea Venom. Depending on performance it could have been very useful for smaller carriers in the RN and export eg Indian Navy or RCN.

I'll agree with Lee about Valom's recent stuff. It's limited run, but decent limited run. The early stuff, the Fisher P-75 for instance, are a tad difficult to put it politely.

I'm just about to start their Fokker T.V. as part of my next triumvirate, now I've cleared the Ki-102

Free to good home (that's me then ;D) From the heating supplies company my son works at,
A Tamiya Porsche 934 Turbo RSR in Vaillent Racing colours. 1/24 scale.
Vaillent is a German heating company and apparently these were to be given away to customers.
Sort of wondering if I could combine it with the Revell VW Transporter van as a German version of Supervan.

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

PR19_Kit

That's the green one, yes?

And a VW/Porsche Supervan sounds a GREAT idea, go for it.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Much to my surprise and delight, I have just acquired a Matchbox Wellesley from a charity shop in Hereford. Box still has the original seals, unopened, and only £1.99.  It will become an ultra long range reconnaissance machine, probably operating in the Middle East, or possibly in the Carribbean .......backstory currently in planning.

If you should happen to pass the  British Heart Foundation shop in Eign Gate in Hereford, they say that they have just received 6 large boxes of kits as a donation......my Wellesley came from the top layer of the first box.   I'll be looking in there regularly as further boxes are unpacked....unless the rest of you get there first.
