Pretty darn classy, them Lee!

Indeed and with the right kit (No not that Kit, although ???????? ) not that difficult to do ?

;D ;D ;D

I bought a set anyway, just in case.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

I had a look at the now ended listing and they do look good. I've no real interest in them but was just wondering if it was something someone had done during Lockdown for himself and then thought, "I could do a few more of these". No clue on EBay though.

I bought a set too even though  I  won't be buying a Vulcan, they could  go on something else I  am sure. RAF  Vigilante  for instance.

I started to do something like that with my Avro Atlantic, only taking the tubes right up to the rear of where the engine was. In the end I abandoned the idea so I could use a pair of Colin's exhaust castings instead.

I built a couple of those Warhawk boxing's  Takes me back as they would have been bought at Beatties in High Holborn.

Certainly a case of the artwork drew you to the kit.

Much to my surprise and delight, I have just acquired a Matchbox Wellesley from a charity shop in Hereford. Box still has the original seals, unopened, and only £1.99.  It will become an ultra long range reconnaissance machine, probably operating in the Middle East, or possibly in the Carribbean .......backstory currently in planning.

If you should happen to pass the  British Heart Foundation shop in Eign Gate in Hereford, they say that they have just received 6 large boxes of kits as a donation......my Wellesley came from the top layer of the first box.   I'll be looking in there regularly as further boxes are unpacked....unless the rest of you get there first.

If you were to go on a 'fact finding mission' to said shop, make an inventory and post it up.....

I'm going into Hereford on Tuesday.  I'll see what can be done.

I've just been into Hereford, and I regret that I was grossly  mis-informed by the young man in BHF last visit .  The true story is :- 6 donated boxes of various books, clothes, bric a brac and kits: only  the top layers of the largest box being kits. The local Air Cadets had someone in this morning that bought all of the  remaining reasonable stuff, leaving only a dozen or so partially started, glue-bombed  kits.   My apologies for incorrectly building up peoples hopes  .  It seemed too good to be true, and has indeed turned out to be so....................................curses, foiled again.

From the main model car suppliers in the UK, Hiroboy, a small pack of goodies for my 'Secret Prototype', plus some other stuff that looked good on their web page.  ;D

And a set of those turned brass Vulcan exhausts that The Wooksta recommended as well. They not only look good, they're beautifully packed as well.

I've built Hasegawa's Kittyhawk boxing (i'm assuming it is the same plastic - box art is nearly as good) and while simple it went together well.  It's nice to see box art showing an RAAF scheme.
The transfers are toast, but then they are 39 years old.  I have plenty to replace them with.
This, or one of the Airfix or Academy P-40's I also have, will be finished in Foliage Green with a white tail and a shark mouth - a combination I have only seen on a warbird.

Post man brought me some nice goodies today a set of turned Vulcan  engine nozzles, these are very nice  I  must say and as Kit said very well packaged.  The  Toko Sea venom arrived  and looks well, like a sea venom, it could be an awkward build but for 6 quid  I am  happy. The decals  are very nice, and include  3 royal navy
versions and an Australian navy  version too. Also the modelcraft sea vixen  has arrived.  The kit is a Canadian and Russian  joint effort  according to the  box blab, the decals are pretty basic  really, but won't be getting used on mine. There is LOTS of  flash present on the kit too, so that will keep me quiet for a while.

The Wooksta!

Did the Toko Sea Venom come with a new canopy or is it still the old Frog one that's so thick you couldn't break it by standing on it?

Good to hear you finally got a Sea Vixen.  If you could still get the Aeroclub u/c set, I'd recommend it as it's a vast improvement over the kit one.

And I'm now certifiable as I went for that built up Victor on ebay, with the intention of stripping it and redoing it in wraparound as a late 70s/early 80s bomber version.  May try and give it a twin Martel launcher on the outer wings.

Wasn't the Desert AF one a Tomahawk rather than Kittyhawk/Warhawk ? I can remember the box top but not exactly what was in it.

I think that RAAF scheme on the Hasegawa boxing was either the first or second time I'd seen an RAAF New Guinea scheme on a box, depends on when the Airfix Boomerang came out. It's one of my favourite schemes, nice and simple but very attractive, and luckily I got the Lifecolor RAAF paint set a few years ago to go with it so have done a few RAAF types since then

The canopy is  1mm thick, so probably the frog one, i have built  worse . At least the pilot would  survive  if he got a bird strike from a high subsonic flying ostrich.  The framework should  at least be  paintable by me, which is nice. It took a bit of rigmarole to get the  sea vixen Lee, but I got it for half decent money so that's a  bonus, I will have a look for the aeroclub  landing gear set  for it, to be honest  the kit ones look quite detailed and  "sturdy " I will have a proper look at them  later.
