OOOPS!   I inadvertently skipped Nighthunter's entry reading this, with the result that I ended up trying to imagine a MUSTARD, and with spatted landing gear.  A mind boggling juxtaposition!!

That's okay: earlier today I got two e-mail notifications of videos from Mark Felton and Matthew Santoro. When I skim-read the e-mail list, my brain merged the two and I thought it said Mark Fellatio for a second... :o  (Yeah, I know; Freudian slips and all that...)

The proposed MUSTARD low-speed research glider had fixed gear taken from a light aircraft, so that could credibly have spats...

Ebay says I've won the Airfix Valiant tanker conversion set.

And I've won that built up Vulcan I was bidding on too.  Bar the clean up and refill, I think the bulk of the hard work is done.  No u/c and I'll have to replace the Blue Steel section with a bomb bay, but I've got a spare bomb door somewhere.  Not sure where I'll get an u/c from, but I'm not shelling out nigh on twenty notes for a white metal one!

Think it'll be a Gulf War one with four LGB under the wings on the former Skybolt hardpoints.

With luck I'll find those Vulcan bits when I'm at home next week.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

The Wooksta!

I've won one of the three unbuilt Vulcans I was bidding on.  3?  I only want the one, but chances are if I'd bid on one, I'd lose it.  This way I've more chance of getting at least one.

No box, but I can live with that as it's going to be built, not a stash hound.  Looks to be original plastic too.  Think that'll be the white Skybolt carrier.

Another Dinky 1/24 scale Ford Capri Mk1 Police car. White with blue folding front seats. Steering wheel is missing and so is the blue flashing light.  The clear plastic is cracked both front and back, windscreen wipers are missing,  and the driver's door handle is missing,  the paint work isn't too bad and someone else has had the same idea to restore it by spraying the red stripes down the sides. Two screws have replaced the rivets.
A rummage in my spares boxes should provide the missing parts and glazing. It also looks like this car had door mirrors as well. On the boot lid is the sign Accident which just needs touching in.
It's play worn around the bumpers. The front Police sign will need replacing.
It's either a restoration project or an alternative colour scheme.

From Evil-Bay;  I've been after the Kfir for a while but for some reason they are sought after.  I got it for the opening bid.  Box is almost mint while bag is open and parts are off the sprues.  Tiger is mint and unsealed.  You'd be hard pressed to believe it's nearly 40 years old.

And this little lot from BNA Model World.

The box is huge.  I had to double check I hadn't bought a 1/48 kit by mistake.  Here it is with a Hasegawa MiG-25 box I just happened to have on the bench.

They fill it though, here's the contents.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

All these old Hasegawa boxing's really do take me back, but that Foxbat seems to stir extra memories for some reason ?

Nowadays I cut the artwork out from the box of any kit where it really hits the mark. Wish I had back in the day now, but then "great" artwork was the norm back then. Luckily we seem to be returning down that path again nowadays

Zenrat, that Hasegawa Tiger is a lovely kit. I still have the FAA one i did several years ago and iirc led to Narses2 doing a French Aeronavale one too.

I have the same version of the Grumman Tiger, I am 2 thirds the way through  building it.  Keep your eye on the wings when  gluing and aligning  and the rear  landing gear can be a bit arsey.

Just won on eBay the Cammett 1/72 resin BAe Nimrod AEW.3 conversion set,  this will be used on a Airfix Valiant B.1 ( spares and repair already built but badly damaged model).

Thanks for the tips Chris.  I also have one in the US Navy boxing.  One will be RAN FAA.  Don't know about the other yet.

Went into the Paint Rack for a pot each of Ivory and RLM75 Enamels.....

and was given a couple of new Vallejo Acrylics to test from an box called 'The Shifters - Eccentric Colors'  Violet Old Copper and Gold Yellow Burnt Orange.

Also stocked up on a new box of 75 cupcake cases which I use to mix small amounts of paint. The last lot lasted over 5 years and went out in a blaze of glory when my cat knocked over a glass of water on the windowsill. The old cases took the hit and took the water.
