Arrived today:
Revell 1/72 Fiat CR.42 Falco

What's this kit like?
As everyone thus far has said, "old" is pretty accurate, but for $2 USD, not going to complain. Still at a loss of what to do with it

Some ideas:
-"Backdate" it by adding extra rigging and struts, replacing propeller with 2-bladed one, etc. to make it either an "interim" type between CR.32 and CR.42, or even one preceding CR.32?
-The exact opposite: get rid of the remaining rigging, reduce the number of struts, streamilne the remaining struts and make the spats even more intimidating, include a wholly enclosed cockpit, etc.
-Re-engine it with an inline engine. Would pass for an Avia fighter, and Kawasaki Ki-10 was also an inlined sesquiplane...
-Convert it to parasol wing. The forgotten PZL fighter?
-Build it as is, but just whiff the markings. Finland might be too obvious. Yugoslavia? Romania? Norway? Netherlands? Portugal?

Woah!

LOVE the Hawaiian Mad Dog, I've never seen one, not even a box lid pic.

I've done a -50 in that scheme from two Airfix -30s and and add-on decal sheet and it's a really good looking scheme.

That's pretty cool!! Ambitious. Hell, just putting on those "wrap around" decals gives me the heebie-jeebies, let alone wrangling those two Airfix kits.   ;D

That was going to be my suggestion
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

At this rate you'll have more than the RAF ever had!  :o

Bought my first model in nearly 2 years. A MiG-15. Going to kludge a tail boom to make something Curtiss XF15C-esque.

A couple of AZ MB6s that were going quite cheaply, so it would have been rude NOT to buy them.

And they come with TWO fuselages each...............  ;) ;D

Is that the ex-Revell kit or a different mould?
