ARMA Hobby Wildcat Mk VI

Heard about this and seen photos Chris. But what do you think of it?

Initial impressions are that it looks very good in the box. Sharp moulding, can't see any flash and crisp detail. The undercarriage construction looks as though it will require careful study of the instructions beforehand as it looks complicated and a tad fiddly, but then the Wildcat's was in real life. Having said that my previous experience with ARMA kits would suggest that it's well engineered and will fit well and relatively easily as long as you follow their instructions. The complicated parts of the PZL I built went together nicely and without hassle.

I've got the basic boxing btw.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

The Wooksta!

The box of five kits, all with problems arrived from ebay, but with a few extras- A Super Mystere box with some spare weapons, a Heller/Smer Dewotine D520, a Heller Texan (possibly another RAF Acklington aircraft), a 48th biplane I can't remember, and an unopened Airfix Hawk, one of the Hornby toolings and may well end up as a 607 Sqn aircraft.

The Vulcan I bought it for is missing an u/c leg and the canopy, so is now intended as a donor for another Atlantic.

Plus the package of a Skybolt set and two sets of Olympus 202s for Vulcan arrived from Uncle Colin.

From an evil-bay shop.

Yak 1b by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

Obviously a short run kit - no locating pins for example - but detail looks pretty good and sprue attachment points are not too huge and are away from joint faces where possible.  Has a very small PE fret containing a control panel and what I think, without consulting the destructions, are UC leg scissor links.  As far as I can tell (i'm no expert) it looks like a Yak.  Time will tell how it fits.  But on first view it knocks the Airfix Yak 9d into a cocked hat.
It will be another WW2 PDRV bird.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Won on eBay and arrived this morning;
1/126 Glencoe Models Convair 880, decals are for TWA and Swiss Air,  no glazed parts. Box slightly damaged. Nose landing gear missing,  engine fan blades missing but I have an extra right upper wing.
1/181 Revell H-139 Convair B-36,  some of the propellers are missing. I could build a long-wing four engined bomber.

DogfighterZen

Picked these up at my parent's house yesterday, both choppers came from a Portuguese shop in Lisbon and the J-20 came from Shangai via ebay.

picked up during my holidays: Trumpeter 1/72 Jiaolong deep sea submersible

The Wooksta!

Have won another few vulcans, including one with an absolute F***ton of extras - resin exhausts, SAC u/c, Wolfpack resin., Mastercasters wheels.  At a really nice price too, absolute steal considering the sheer cost of all the extras.

The North East is becoming very 'Vulcan heavy'.  ;D ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Finally got hold of one of these.  From an evil-bay shop in the Land of the Queens at a reasonable price.  I have yet to see one actually on a shelf in a model shop here in 'straya.

I'd better go and visit the Tribe before it tips over into the North Sea

I visited my LMS today.  There was one there, on the shelf.  Cost too much.   :banghead:
