Quite unexpectedly, I managed to secure an example of the oh so rare 1/72 Monogram F-16XL. This kit has been a holy grail of mine for years - and now having it, being faced with all the possibilities inherent with this aircraft is a somewhat bewildering experience.

There's the Dragon/DML kits too, they do all of the variants, even a long wing one ---  ;)

OoooooOOOOoooooohh! I didn't know there was one of them!

But do they fit? Dragon do make some awfully badly fitting kits.............. :(

I've not experienced anything like that Kit, the Dragon kits I've made have been as good as Hasegawa. I had started one of the Do.335's before the house move, but it got packed away. Here you can see it in the background, it inspired the model in the forefront.

Hobby Boss also does a decent 1:72 single seater Do 335 - but it has a problem: the props are both molded the wrong way around, so that the model is flying backwards (have oine in the stash). This flaw is hard to correct, since the blades have an airfoil profile, and you cannot simply swap them.

It's been confirmed that I did win the 1/72 Monogram Convair RB-36H Peacemaker and a 1/96 Bristol Britannia. These will be my last kits for the year as I just haven't got any more room to store any more.

The Wooksta!

I think Colin does a correction set for the H/boss 335.  If not Freightdog, somebody does.

Freightdog did/does a suitable 1:72 set:

Not a model kit, but rather diorama supplies: a very nice-looking (convenience) grass mat from Martin Welberg Scenery for a new photo set base.

Nice stuff, worth taking a look: http://www.martinwelberg.nl

LOTS more Tamiya tape from Howes of Oxford in all three widths.

I'd totally exhausted my supplies on the Secret Prototype and paint work had come to a grinding halt, so this was an 'essential purchase'.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That does look good
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I'd got the order in before Boris thought of renewing the lockdown, but I'd have ordered it anyway.  ;)

I have about 40 kits in the stash plus the vacform ones and a few ships to build as well as repainting my 00 gauge TriAng Midland blue Pullman, but should anyone bring out a 1/72 Sud Sahara or 1/72 Avro Lincoln B.Mk.1 it will have to wait until next year.

You're talking about the french whale, I presume?

Yeah - I could do with one of those too..

A French company called JMGT/SOCRATE or Battleaxe did a 1/72 vacuform. But you'd have a better chance finding it if you called it a Breguet 763/765 Sahara. This company made two versions apparently, the Deux Ponts variant  too.
