Aerocraft Models  www.aerocraftmodels.com do a couple of sets to convert the S.2 to an S.1 as well as a few other nice items.

Thanks Alastair, I've not heard of their stuff before, and they do some very interesting bits and pieces.

I WISH they'd put the scale of the donor kit in with their details though.................
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I found out about their stuff from an article on building the Airfix Phantom as they do a correction set for the splitter plates, then I saw them at Perth and bouoght some more bits. Lee has also bought their S.1 conversion set and might have done more than just put the parts into the box as I have.

and 1× Golden Hind.

Gawd, that brings back memories. Brilliant white plastic, a stand to pose it on and black "rubbery" plastic scrambling nets. I have a vague memory of an unsuccessful attempt to float one in the bath ? Not sure if the memory is an accurate one or not though ? Age you know
Nope, this is the itty bitty one, no rat lines if I recall correctly

It's the tiny/small scale one I was rattling on about. I could swear they used to come with those black, rubberised rat lines, but I am asking my memory to go back a long way.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Visited rareplanedetective in Palm Springs, California for the first time.  Highly recommended for a visit or online.  Fantastic place especially for 1960's to 1990's airplane kits.  Great prices, got 8 kits for $72 US. Tons of Frog, MPM and other less prolific lines, plus all the regualrs.

I have a feeling a few of my "seasoned" whiffing friends have had a crack at a few of these.

Clockwise from 1 o'clock:
-1/72 Minicraft MiG-25, with great box art of Lt Belenko's defection.  The instructions say the kit designers poured over the defection pictures and other limited information and cranked out the kit within 100 days.
-1/72 Heller Ouragan
-1/77 Revell F-89 Scorpion
-1/72 Frog Gloster/Whittle E28, bagged
-1/72 Koro AS P-59.  Never heard of Koro from West Germany.
-1/72 Italeri AH-1W
-1/72 Entex AM-22 Floatplane (Zero)
-1/72 Airfix MiG-15, bagged

1/72 Altantis Ah-56 Cheyenne (from Amazon)

Looks quite OK in the box. Not quite sure what I'm going to do with it marking wise.
The Soviet markings supplied look rather boring.

MiG 25 is reboxed Hasegawa sprues.  Their stuff was boxed as Hales and Minicraft for the US market.  Viktor defected in 1976 and the first Hasegawa release was 1978.  This is the kit I used for my NASA MiG 25.  It is very much a kit of its time but builds up OK.  Worst fault is the "so shallow as to almost be outies" exhausts.  There are resin exhausts available but once you start down that route you'll want to replace the cockpit, and the bang seat, and the undercarriage bays, and...
Just use suitably sized tubes and paint the insides dark.

I've also built the Gloster Pioneer (albeit in east european guise).  There is not much space to put the required nose weight.

Two kits in a parcel from an LHS today.  They were riding shotgun on some xmas presents for Mrs z.

Another repopped AMT kit from the 70's or 80's.  They have been cleaning up the moulds before producing these and they look good in the box.

And a motorcycle I always wanted IRL.  Probably would have killed myself on it, but it would have been fun (and happened fast).
Kawasaki Mach III (H1) by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr
I couldn't resist starting to build this straight away.  First motorcycle kit in a long time (although I have a few more in the stash).
I expect them to follow this (early) version up with a later model with disc brake and bodywork behind the seat.

Hasegawa seem to have the knack of choosing bikes that I like.  Maybe their product development team are about my age?
I have their GT-380 and KH-400 and was tempted by the GSX-R 750.

https://www.plazajapan.com/  sells most Japanese kits quite cheaply. You should be able to find all your bike kits there.

Received from Special Hobby today

2 x 1/72 CMK A-20G/H/K/J Havoc/Boston Mk. IV/V Gun Turret

Because the turret is the Martin 250 Turret which was used in the Lancaster b. Mk. VII

You don't get a canopy as it's a detail set for the Special Hobby kit but I have a couple of spare transparencies from Eduard B-24 kit X121 or something  Overtree sets.
