Sword 1/72 Spitfire XIV 3-in-1 set.  Goodies!!  Three Spits - and with the help of the spares box I should be able to squeeze an FR.18 out of the extra sprues.

Farewell Fujimi Spitfires, it was nice knowing you.

Nice one DZ, they're as rare as hen's teeth aren't they?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yep, and the ones that come up on ebay are either too expensive if "buy now" option is available or it's 20 bidders for one auction and the price ends up almost the same as the other ones. 65€ is a price that i find reasonable for such a kit, it's rare, out of production, it's one of my holy grail kits and don't forget it's a 1/32 scale model so, it would always be more expensive than smaller models.
I can say, i'm a lucky and happy modeller!

65€ ?!  £60 ?!!  :o
I paid £5 for mine  ;D

5£? Wow... i've never seen one selling on ebay for less than 40€ and at the time i couldn't buy that one... :banghead:

I got very lucky at a show. At the end of the day the trader didn't want to put the big battered box back in his van and knocked the price down from £15  ;D
Also, it's not the official release but a knock-off under a different name - same box art!

zenrat

Looking forward to seeing that built DFZ.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Can't say no to that, can you? I'd do the same and relieve that poor gent of such a burden. Anyway, i think I'm done buying these as this is the second and space to display will be an issue ...

Right on! A sort of weird series of events and a couple trades lead to the acquisition of this. No money spent, I traded the plastic only (kept the box, transfers, paper work, etc.) from one of my English kits of same for this Lodela boxing.

Forgot to mention that it came w/ an Eduard PE set as well.

Wow, not seen one of those in ages.  I'd have thought the plastic had good Catalina water bomber (real or whif) potential?

I never knew Lodela re-popped that one.

Good find there Brad.

From the Big H Sword's 3 in 1 boxing of their Spitfire XIV, which I think is my favourite mark of Spitfire, although I do have a particular liking for the early Mk I as well.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
