Arrived this  morning, another  Special hobby  Gnat  single seater.  This one is the  Finnish reconnaissance fighter  boxing, but it has all the bits in for  the other versions.  This could be a fleet air arm  aircraft.

I just took delivery of the Kora F+W C-3605 kit from the Big H. OK, it was outRAGEOUSLY expensive

As all Kora kits seem to be

As for what to do with it ? Give it a turret from a Defiant or similar ?

I just took delivery of the Kora F+W C-3605 kit from the Big H. OK, it was outRAGEOUSLY expensive for a quite small 1/72 scale kit, but in the interests of 'tail weight' research it just had to be done.  ;D

It has that delightful 'early Czech resin' smell that seems to have been lost in recent years, but it looks pretty good.

Not often you have to think about tail weight but looking at this I think you might have too  :o

That has, to my jaded eye, perfect proportions.  I need to think about what from my stash I can whiff onto similar shape.

Last one before Crimbo. New tool Airfix 1/72 Spitfire Mk Vc. Looks very nice in the box . Going to build it out of the box as the USAAF version.

I first thought it was a ww2 aircraft, after seeing the swastikas on it, but after looking it up, it is fairly modern. I like it  Arctic camouflage and ski's on the landing gear, and being used to observe military exercises in Norway or Northern Canada, or a forward air controller.

It was a WWII aircraft, actually pre-WWII. It's just that this version has been modified to have a turbo-prop engine.

The original of the family, the EKW C-36 is a fairly normal pre-WW2 fighter. Unfortunately it entered service in the middle of WW2.

Apparently it had some roots in the Me-110, but quite where I'm not sure. After all, it only has one engine......  :-\
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I had wondered about that and had posted something about it years ago, probably one of the post's I've deleted though so there would be no point in me trying to search for it now, anyhow I can see similarities in the shape of the wing, canopy, rear fuselage and tail group (without the 3rd fin).

Latest entries for the stash from three different Portuguese stores...

On order from another Portuguese modelling store is another kit i've had my eye on for a while, the Great Wall Hobby 1/48 SU-35, from a Polish seller on ebay i got the Hasegawa 1/48 A-4M and two pairs of 3d printed Derby air-to-air missiles from High Planes Models site, one pair in 1/72 and the other in 1/48.
The SU-35 is also coming from a Portuguese store so it should be here next week and that will probably be the last item of the year for my stash. All i can say is that i'm a happy boy...

With the state of shipping in the US at the moment these two will likely be my last two to arrive in 2020...

1/48 Trumpeter Wyvern S.4 (Late).  I really enjoyed the RW early version I built a few months ago.  This one will either be RAF or USN I think.
1/48 Heller Mirage IV.  No idea where this will go yet, but it was a good deal so I snapped it up.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....
