Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

A cake? I should think so!

There were almost THREE cakes, my youngest had this on the table at a Starbucks when I rendezvoused with her on Christmas Eve ...

My liking for Jaffa Cakes being almost legendary....  ;D

Then for breakfast y'day I found this set out before me....

And at tea time y'day we had this....

It may not be obvious, but the candles make up '78' when seen from above. And yes, we DID light them all!  ;D

And I blew them all out in one go too.  ;D ;D

Totally forgot to  add these very nice  and important  additions to the stash. From  Mr Spackman, a 2 seat conversion set  for the Hasegawa  F-102, this will certainly test my ability   and is very  appreciated. From Todd, aka Captain Canada a pair  of engines and propellers from  a frog shackleton , some  ve3 nice  RCAF dress uniform  buttons  and a very generous amount of  airfix  flying hours.  Also a very generous  and appreciated   addition. I am thinking that the flying hours  will be purchasing  a Vulcan B2 when it comes out, not sure how I will wiff that unless I  paint it  in middle east colours and have it based in North Africa  somewhere.

But of a bargain ( he says) via Ebay  arrived this morning.  Part built  kopro  mil mi 4 and nearly all built  mi1 in 1/72nd scale.  Nobody else bid so I got them for the starting price of  £6. They are workable and on the Mi-1 all the hard work has been done.  The Mi 4 will be a Westland  helicopter of the late 50's, and the Mi-1 a Bristol  helicopter of similar  vintage, one will be RAF, the other  navy, not sure what will be  which  as yet.

Recent stuff over the last 2-3 weeks or whatever.

Another of these, factory sealed this time. I'm done buying the airplanes and need one more of the boats.

Dave's glorious Phalgon inspired me to buy this thing:

Copied Nils' homework and got this:

Going to turn this into an airliner.

Doesn't look like much, but, four Revell 727-100 kits at $12.50 a piece.

Lastly, this thing, which came with a big ol' sheet of PE:

And.... wow... somehow I missed Kit's Anteater score.. Wow!

Delivery from the Big H, only ordered it on Christmas Eve with a Hannant's Voucher (credit note) I got as an Xmas present and it arrived yesterday

A set of those 1/72 3D seat belt transfers. They look very good on the backing paper, but we shall see when it comes to using them if they are preferable to pre-painted etch.

Some RAF and FAA generic letters/numbers transfer sheets

Special Hobby 1/72 Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 and masking set. Now I was expecting this kit to be on a par with their recent He 162 which was excellent, but all I can say is WOW. Firstly it comes with alignment pins which takes it above the standard "limited run" kit, secondly the detail is fantastic. It includes both an engine and cowl machine gun bay both of which are visible if you leave the cowling panels off. If you choose not to then there is a simpler MG set up. Flaps, ailerons and slats are posable and there are a number of other alternatives included. Finally there's even a hand crank to fit to the cowling should you wish to pose it on the ground in a small diorama. It looks a tremendous kit on the sprues, but we shall see what it builds like in the next month or so.

I'm still going to get the new tool AZ Me 109E-7 when it's out, already available to pre-order from Czech shops, mainly as I want the desert version and their G's and K's have been excellent kits, but it will be interesting to compare them to Special Hobby's.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Happy Belated Birthday Kit!

Also today from the eBay Fairy, Hasegawa 1/48 Phantom FG.1.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

DogfighterZen

My last stash entry of 2020, this BEAST of a kit...

The Hasegawa 1/48 A-4M will be the first of 2021 and will probably be delivered sometime next week.
