This is the old Frog  faw.9 Javelin, which  I got from Ebay I think pretty cheap, and it had a resin replacement nose  in the box, I am assuming its the freightdog one.  Anyhow  it's  been converted into  a ground pounder as its previous  job  was taken  over by the  Lightning.  I wanted to do a  middle east scheme  aircraft  and to be honest, I  used some  random RAF  decals  on it.  Rocket pods and  bombs are probably  not  right  for the mid sixties  but it will be reet.  I painted it with the  hairy stick, and the colours are  no doubt the wrong  shades  but , I am not  bothered.  It took some of the  crap floating around my head away  at least

Love it and actually have one of these Frog kits ready for paint.  I recently did a 1/100 Lightning F.6 in this scheme and maybe I'll just follow your lead.     Some day I'll learn how to take photos !

The colors look good on the Javelin.

Thankyou everyone, I  struggled with my enthusiasm for this one, even thou3 it went  together  relatively well.

You have a little cracker there! Great idea, well executed.

I sympathize with your loss of enthusiasm. I haven't touched a model in over a year after I tried to sand a cut straight and took off too much. It knocked my confidence and now I look at my models and just see wonky, amateurish crap. I guess I just need to get back on the horse!

Certainly suits that scheme Chris. The white area around the canopy is inspired mate.

Well done

Thankyou for your kind words, unfortunately  my enthusiasm has taken a  kicking due to unfortunate   occurrence  over the  Christmas period and  is on going  with  both  my health  and my dog's  health.  So feeling a bit  crap to be honest.  Narses(Chris) I  wasn't  sure about  the white  on the fuselage  as I  didn't think it would  look  right.  It's the  only  part that got the  airbrush treatment  also  as I  dare say  I would  be still painting it for weeks to come.  Depending on  what happens over the next few weeks  I  may well  find myself  another  Javelin, as I quite like the  big old lumbering  brutes, and arm it with  some  A.S. 30's

I've often thought of the Javelin having some large air to surface missiles, there's certainly room under the wings for some and you've got the back seater to use them given the 50/60's technology.

I understand the health issues mate, had a few of my own recently and some are still ongoing.  Look after yourself

Very sorry to hear that and hope all get better! I too think the white section works very well and I also have a soft spot for the lumbering brutes so if you do find yourself working on another Javelin, I'll look forward to the results.

Thankyou Chris and Bob, I have to make  a big decision  soon whether to gi3 my dog a remotest chance of  survival  or put him to sleep.  He is 11 years old now, quite  old for his breed, but he is still  wanting to do stuff  and be a dog  so I  have to give  him a chance  regardless of the  expense, he is my best buddy. I have  to wait  until  after surgery on the 20th to see what  is the script with my problem.  The Frog Javelin is not a bad  kit considering  really and has plenty of  wiff potential.

Snowtrooper

That bomb load put my mind in the right mood to notice a resemblance (the nose and intake area mainly) between Javelin and the Bucc. Who knows, maybe it would have excelled in the role it was not too slow for, unlike its intended purpose. Nice work, and get well soon (as well as your dog)!

Nice one Chris

I've got one of those Frog Javelins too, but it's buried in the stash. Could you jog my little grey cells please, the kit comes with underwing drop tanks in addition to the slip tanks under the fuselage, right ?

Hya Robert,
Mine  had a pair of drop tanks and a pair of firestreak missiles , as well as the two tanks that go under the  fuselage. It had a couple of spare ones loose in the box along  with some  spare  landing gear doors.
