Due to  the RAF having  limited  fighter andcair support aircraft available in the middle east, a stop gap fleet of low hour canadair CF-86 Sabres were modified to  carry  air to ground  ordnance and were sent out to Libya  in the August of 1955. The aircraft  were veterans of the  Korean war  and were well liked by their pilots.  The aircraft  werw kept  in service  alongside the Javelin when  they got relegated to  ground attack roles.
Kit is the 1/72nd scale  hobbyboss one.  Very easy to build  but nowhere to put enough  nose weight.

Interesting paint scheme with the white area around the cockpit.

Another neat one Chris, I particularly like that scheme
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That white surround is so typical of the RAF Middle East Command scheme back then!

Herks of the period had their cockpit roofs painted all over white, viz Airfix's first boxing of the Herc way back when.

Thank you everyone, it was hard going  wanting to  finish  anything  these past couple of weeks  as my head is just full of bad things  at the moment. I have  been  very close  to wrapping everything up.
I want to make  a 2 seater  sabre  from a modified  Hasegawa  T2 as it has a lot of sabre  in it already, we shall see how things go.

The Falcon TF-86 conversion is very good Chris, I'm just about to start the one I have.

Are they available over here do you  know? I  was just  going to  swap  the wings, and or change the  nose for an F-86 one

They sure are, it's on one of the Falcon Triple Conversion sheets.

Are they a vacform conversion Kit? I am not  keen on them as they're too easy for me to make.a mess off.  I will look them up and see  what's  the script with them.

I have  just  looked at  the set on scale mates  it is a tempting  set to get as I  have  a Neptune which  might  get  pressed in to RAF service, so an alternative version of the Neptune would be nice . The radome from the TBF could be used on something else I dare say.

Yes, Falcon's stuff is all vacform.

I think the one I have is only the TF-86 though. I'll have a look in The Loft and see if I can find it.

Whole  new world to me as the whole  sanding the parts down  the exact amount  thing puts me off. I  did a  r/c German U boat  many  moons ago  and rhe upper hull and conning tower were vac formed an3 I  made an expensive mess of them.  That put me off.
