I have a CB-90 in the stash & it's (still) one of the contenders for my entry into this GB. ;)

Although, ahead of it in contention is the 1/72 Vosper MTB that needs to be scale-o-rama'd to 1/35 & modified. ;D

Whilst looking for something else I came across a couple of photographs in "The British Pacific Fleet" by David Hobbs that might get some brain cells working  ;)

The first one was of H.M.S. Implacable's D.U.K.W. amphibian taking the 1946 Miss Australia contestants on a tour of Sydney Harbour. You can just about make out the smirk on her Royal Marine drivers face

The second is of the same D.U.K.W. driving the winner (Miss Rhonda Kelly) through the streets of Sydney. Again her crew look more than happy and the D.U.K.W. is bedecked with ribbons and Miss Australia signs  ;D

As an aside I wasn't aware that R.N. carriers had D.U.K.W.s aboard. Opens up some interesting possibilities ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Started before the beginning of the GB and so ineligible.  This is the '90s SMER repop of the 1977 Heller kit.  Fit isn't bad except for the radiator which is lopsided and woeful.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

LVTP-7 replacement concepts.

Cushion added to existing design.

All new ACV.

In both cases the skirt would deflate back to the hull and the hinged covers would drop
down over the deflated skirt.
:o

I do like that DUKW   ;D

You and me both, and very modellable in a diorama too.

Mrs_PR19 would have wanted me to paint it like a Mallard of course.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Is the only 1/35 DUKW the Italeri one?
What's it like?
