This project is based on a purchase in ebay of an "only for spares" item. It was a 1/350 Trumpeter Sovremenny that lacked the entire hull, but the waterline plate was present. Currently I cannot say about completeness of other parts, we will know during building process . Some blocks of the superstructure were assembled very poorly and worse painted. I was disassembling everything I could without causing damage to the plastic. For the hull, I chose a very old and inaccurate model of the USS Iowa from Revell at 1/535. I built the new hull, without a step, with the waterline plate and lateral, and front supplements. In this new config I assumed that hull was already cut by the flotation line.

The concept is a Destroyer armed with a pair of huge (approx 20 m long) cruise missiles (with chemical or nuclear explosive) able to destroy an US Aircraft Carrier and part of its escort vessels.

Here you can see my project (waterline cut) compared with RW Sovremenny (full hull).

I thought the Sunburns were scary! Eeeep!

Agreed, those missiles look positively massive!

Just to give you an idea. Superstructure is not properly glued, and turrets are not installed yet.

Interesting...

Must admit, I'd be inclined to keep both of the SA-N-7s and lose one of the turrets, but it depends on what bits you've got, of course. This is not going to be a popular puppy anywhere near a US aircraft carrier so it's going to need all the SAMs it can get.

I will try to keep 2 or even 3 SA-N-7.

I love those almost spherical turrets and  settle them in classical superimposed config is so tempting

Comrade ysi_maniac, your brilliant build shall strike great fear into hearts of capitalist western running dog navals.

That thing between both big tubes is a command post to control, backwards firing, huge missiles. It is implemented as a specially designed and protected and armored capsule intended to house specialized people authorized to fire these strategic weapons.
