I asked colleagues modellers what scheme suits better.

Colleagues chose another older camouflage and I'll do the model.

Till midnight march 8.2020. And I'm starting March 1. 2020 at 16:45h.
S-90 (Fw-190A-8/F-8) 1/72 Airfix.

Morning 15-minutes.....

Nothing surprising.....  ;D

....with simply solution:Little bit trimmig on inner fuselage edge ( between arrows).
Glueing engine lower cover, then settling on fuselage behind wing....and .... holding it all on place.

And result with "little walleys" on fuselage - wing joint...

Next planned session is "puttying, sanding.... puttying, sand..... ".
Nothing uncommon for modellers ...  ;D ;D ;D

That looks more than a little warped!  :o

Which kit was it?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I'm not a fan of the new tool Airfix kit - it just feels a bit clunky in places. Personally, I would have went for the 1997 Revell kit - the only things wrong with it are the solid canopy bit moulded with the fuselage spine and if the instructions are followed, the u/c is too upright.

As for scheme, anything worn by the S199s would be more appropriate, although the Air Police one in NMF/Red would look most spiffing.  I did a Hobbyboss Dora in the overall green scheme.

I wholeheartedly agree - their Spitfires are the current Platinum standard -  but the Revell 190 is cheaper and can be thrown together very quickly.  It's also very accurate  - IIRC I asked Arthur Bentley to have a look over it when it came and he reckoned it was bang on the money.
