I understand that the Chicago Piano or multiple pom-pom  put a lot of ammunition in the air but (to quote Bill Shakespeare) it was "...full of sound and fury, signifying nothing..."  In other words, it was  "...of low lethality.."  It was established that the 20mm Oerlikon or 40mm Bofors were actually more efficient in  depleting the opposition's air force.  Wiki's information on the weapon is here:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QF_2-pounder_naval_gun

That's a formidable looking ship!  :thumbsup:

The funnel cowls have a touch of HMS Vanguard about them.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Very interesting build.  The added length blended in very nicely.

Looks to me like a standard quadruple "Pom Pom" gun AA station (with 40 mm QF-2 naval autocannons) with lots of ammo and some protective fairings?





There were also stations with eight of these weapons.
