Not wanting to induce too much horror, but...

And I have one, I think...

It's certainly a bigger aircraft than I realised

I don't see anything in the planform that suggests it's an aero-isoclinic
design. All it has in common with the Shorts PD.13 is the use of mid-wing
trailing edge bodies to hold the main landing gear. Also I don't think that
and aero-isoclinic wing would work in a canard configuration, you wouldn't
want an aft mounted wing flexing in that manner.

Yes, but the artist is clearly mixing features from several aircraft. His tip fins and canards are very XV-12, for example. My suspicion is that he may have been inspired by the PD.13's planform without fully understanding what an aero-isoclinic actually is. Remember, he's an artist, not an aircraft engineer.

AST21 is another good account to follow, both on ArtStation and Twitter.

Twitter: https://twitter.com/Gsh_60_1

He's just posted this on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/Gsh_60_1/status/1447525635992141826?s=20

"fast sketch, some sort of strike aircraft based on things like Buccaneer or Phantom but smaller, Idk"

I love this: it looks like an Alpha Jet scaled up to Jaguar size.

If and when modelling the "Stepping up the game plane" do not forget to have the back end as an afterburner exhaust of extremely thin section... now that he didn't post other views of the thing. One thing l love is fan-art, being the pseudo-expert.

As this obviously doesn't look like a "real" plane, l assume it is meant to showcase that the artist can do his own 3D models. But will do...

Needs one of those older ECM pods sacrificed to have extra large wings. So large that it can not be placed on an underwing pylon. So that it will suit the claim that it a missile drone that will climb high and remain over the action area. Perhaps one could mention the British Alarm. The F-16 model kit should have the HARM features, that pod by the inlet and so on. Would possibly help if it was a two-seater. Better if one of those with the spines. Have the other one on the other wingtip a "straight face", much like those laser targeting pods. You will possibly won't be able to carry the outer underwing Sidewinders. So, these two on the wingtips, two 600 galon drops, an HARM under one wing, an AMRAAM on the other and one of those ugly boxy ECM pods under the fuselage. Your mission, if you accept it, is to loft your two big wingtip missiles. High over the enemy capital or something similar so that one can jam and the other can designate targets while operatdd by your backseater. To clear a path so that your cruise missiles can clear a path for your stealth planes to work.

Whiffs probably should convince the wiever about the reasons they look odd. Otherwise everyone knows selected teen series airframes have been carrying Stonewell cold fusion reactors since the Seventeens, to power up their lazer guns. (Real life people seem unhappy with the Chinese these days, hinting at the wondrous things that are kept in Nevada...)

Here's another one that AST21 has posted on their Twitter:

I'd like to see this one with the wheels(?) down...

This is a VOS-4N(E), which is presumably related, from his ArtStation page.

His description: "very unrealistic plane sketch built for coolness rather than realism"

Think I'd have gone for Jaguar/Mirage F.1 style gear retracting into the fuselage next to the engine, personally.

Obviously it needs a Crusader type wingset if it lacks control authority to make extremely steep approaches.

Dizzyfugu

Thanks.  Reminds me of the Shira-dow from the "Wings of Honneamise" anime, though. It's even got the same landing gear layout.  ;)

Those of you frequent other places might have noticed this NICE wing in ground effect ship/plane...

https://www.artstation.com/artwork/3qmJdo

But if you were to go around galleries and messages from other artists, you might notice this certainly-not-a-plane-ship

Full adress being https://www.artstation.com/artwork/9NPqoL . You can even find the previous post about it!

Not a fan of wing flapping myself, but might be of interest.
