Terrific solution.

One of the Meng modern equipment sets ? You know, those must have accessory sets for any Post Apocalyptic builder.

the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

Bit more done on the paddle wheel after some test fitting I realised I have entirely not enough wheels for it
Buying them separate was frikkin costly, I was lucky to land 4 of those Meng sets for not too bad a price.
Wasn't real keen on taking them from my existing stash of unbuilt kits so I thought I would have a crack at casting them and they are turning out pretty good

really coming together well
Cheers it's a slow process as I don't get much time also doing stuff I haven't done before

Casting is good. A few dings and bubbles can easily be used to add character to well used tyres.

This really is coming together well

Very happy with the way the paddle wheel came out, I'm not going to attempt the chains holding the tyres it will do my head in lol I might try thin wire but we might pretend they are bolted on  :-\
Bit of a milestone all the major bits are done time to add details and glue er up

Latest work starting to add more details to the truck, the stands that hold it in place , added spikes to the barge, drive system for the paddle wheel
Decided to go with a small diorama base so I have cut the model down to waterline

buzzbomb

Good work there mate.

How is it steered?

I believe its by movie magic lol , I've studied it closely and unless there are rudders underneath the barge I don't think they engineered it that far, in the movie the Mariner pulls it off course with his boat , the 50 cal does not rotate but is fixed firing forward

I suspected as much.
I suppose they could use jet skis to nudge it in the direction they wanted it to go.
How did/do they steer stern wheeler paddle steamers?  I've never thought about that until now.
Look at that, you've got me pondering.  Well done.

<googles>

Rudders behind the wheel is the answer.  At least in this case.
