I have managed to harangue the powers that be here at Ian Allan Bookshops to sponsor a group build/competition on this site

The prize will be a copy of a forthcoming book from Hikoki Publications;

Latin American Air Wars & Aircraft 1912-1960 by Dan Hagedorn (RRP £39.95)

due for release this summer (hopefully!)

so what do you have to do? it's simple, just build a What If subject from any Latin American country (and no, Canada doesn't count)

Aircraft, Military, Naval etc are all welcome
any era - past, present or future
any scale
you can have as many entries as you can finish

deadline is 31st May 2005

I think the only way british stuff would qualify would be if it was something like a captured RN Wessex in Argentine markings painted over the British ones or something similar...

But not just a straight British Wessex based in the Falklands.

Gary

How about one of those Luft 46 bombers as Adolf' spersonal transport, now under new management and done in Argentine markings?

*chuckle* For a somewhat different "what-if", how about an Argentinian Harrier?

Hmm, perhaps a SHAR FA.2 in Brazilian markings, Brazilian Naval markings to be precise, operating along side their Skyhawks?  You could probably use the FCM decals for the Skyhawk.
