This was built as part of a long weekend blitz build with my local club. It used the 1/72 Airfix Mk.IX kit with the prop and canopy form a Mk.I to match the book.

to match the book.
Matching precisely the source is more realist than what-if but, as this source book is fantasy, this model of yours is a good what-if one, congratulations! ;)
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

You just know I'm going to jump all over this one.  Great work! I've got plans for one of those as well.  The Mk.I prop and canopy are duly noted.  Fantastic! It's always nice to see a fellow Tintinophile around here!
Thanks!

LOVED Tintin as a kid.  Love seeing this.  Very nice job!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

i like the way it turned out, many years ago i built one too, but using a Revell Spitfire Mk.V.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thanks, everyone. It's actually a bit too glossy for my liking so I'm going to matt it down.

I also have just finished a Hawker Demon from Cigars of the Pharaoh that I'll post up soon.

Oh, do share. I've got a thought to wander over to the LHS soon and see if I can get my hands on an Airfix re-pop of the Hawker Demon for just that purpose.
Thanks!

You know you want to  ;) ;D

I used an old boxing of it. Fairly basic kit, but it looks enough like a Demon to do the job. You'll need to fill in the slot for the exhaust outlets then redrill them as holes, as per the illustrations. Other than that, it's a straightforward build.

Other options in my stash that will come out, probably any time a blitz build comes up:

King Ottokar's Sceptre Bordurian Fighter Messerschmitt BF109F
King Ottokar's Sceptre Airliner Savoia Marchetti SM.81
The Black Island Anonymous monoplane Heinkel HE70 Blitz
The Shooting Star FERS Floatplane Arado 196
Red Sea Sharks Khemedi Mosquito D.H. Mosquito Mk.IV

Heh... peer pressure will get you everywhere!

I can't wait to see some of those projects come to life.  I've got a long list of completed Tintin builds... and a longer aspirational one for future builds.  The ever-growing list can be found on my blog - http://strobez.ca/wp/index.php/tintin/tintin-1-72-scale-projects/
Thanks!

You could also add the Carreidas 160 and a Quantas Boeing 707 from Flight 714. And the San Theodoran Mil Mi-1 from Tintin and the Picaros.
