Nice one!

I've floated this idea a few times and I have the kits stashed away for it, but my backgroundstory  is Britain-in-Vietnam.
I think one would  suit  an SEA camouflage scheme  wouldn't you, Napalm  and snakeye bombs  hung  underneath it

That's the general idea, however I decided that by the '60s it would just HAVE to have ejection seats, and that's massively difficult in the Gannet, cos the standard seat backs are just thin cushions screwed to a vertical bulkhead, and bang-seat backs are neither vertical nor thin. You can't move the aft cockpit bulkhead either since a) it's structural and b) it's got a fuel tank behind it. You can't even use one of those rocket-on-a-rope things that Skyraiders had: nowehre to stow it. The only solution I can think of is to make it a single-seater.

Remove the  third  seat completely  move stuff in to its  place cut out the pilots and second  seat  and completely  remodel the  cockpit  as a proper  tandem  cockpit with the ability to  take bang seats and also have  a larger  canopy  for better  visibility .not sure what to  use as the cockpit and  canopy  donor though.

Back to its beginnings then, the prototype only had two seats.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Quite often only the pilot got a bang seat in multi place types back in the day.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That doesn't solve the problem though: the front cockpit just isn't long enough between the bulkheads for two bang seats and two consoles. You either have to redesign huge chunks of the load-bearing structure, which seems OTT for a recycled 2nd aircraft that supposed to be cheaper than a new one, or you give up and go with one seat. I think if I ever get around to it, I'll go with the latter.

Can't see that flying by the '60s for an aircraft that supposed to be escorting CSAR helos deep behind enemy lines though.
