Going lockdown stir crazy?  Bored with growing that 'I'll keep it until all this is over' Covid-19 beard?  Want to travel the world but you can't?  Well come along to the virtual Northern Model Show What If? SIG display!  In one version of reality the show's cancelled, but not in this version!!

Just like the virtual Scottish Nationals let's attempt to produce another virtual SIG display on the 7th of June.

THIS IS NOT A GROUP BUILD!!!!

However if you are building something that you would have taken to the show, if you could have got there, then that can be included.

What we're looking for:

1. Four pictures of each completed model (remember folks, if it ain't complete it's just a partly built kit, but if it's all done it's a model) on a WHITE background and a maximum of four models per person along with the name of what it is.  If it ain't on White, it ain't right!

2. One of those pictures should be taken as if you are looking at the display while walking around the show. The nose to be nearest the camera on the left so I can attempt to make a display picture with everything pointing the same way please.  If you're not sure what we're after then check out the virtual Scots Nats thread.  I'f you've got paper bigger than A4 or Letter feel free to leave an expanse of white behind the model.

3. If you normally go to the show or have fully intended to go to the show but have never got around to it then that is OK.  Also if never having planned or been able to do any of that but want to join in.

4. If you live near any Newcastle in any part of the world you can also send in pictures.  But only of completed models.  Plastic ones.  Whiffs.  You know the drill.

5. No more than four models to be entered, there is no limit to table space and there are more than enough chairs behind the virtual tables, for a change

6. There is no rule six

7. There is a rule Seven, and that is the pics need to be of stuff that wasn't at the Scottish Nationals.  Doesn't matter whether it is old, something new, preferably not borrowed and any colour including blue.

8. All entries will be by messaging me and any other person that may end up being conscripted nominated to help out. So PM's only.  I'm happy cropping and resizing.  Can you send me your entries by 6 June please.

9. This thread can also be used for chat about the show.

10. Maybe The Wooksta! will sort out a place to have a virtual beer or two (no I don't mean Bud Lite, I mean a proper beer but imagined).

I live 1500km from Newcastle, NSW, does that count as "near"?

I think it's nearer in miles, so on that basis, yes.

The Wooksta!

I *might* be able to find something, pm me with your email address.

White?  What about those people at shows who use bases?  I've one such base that all my stuff is photographed on.

And I don't do beer - unless given* - I drink Rum or possibly Cider.

*You show me a Geordie who refuses a drink and I'll show you a liar or a recovering alcoholic!

Yup 932 miles and anyway 1,500 kilometres is close in Aus  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

PM with e-mail address later Lee.

Bases are fine but can they be placed on a white background please?  That's said assuming that each model is on an individual base - is that not the case?

As for beer/rum whatever takes your fancy.  Prosecco is right out!

The Wooksta!

The base I use is big, a good 3 feet across - when anything is photographed, there's no edge.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

You'd have a minimum of 12ft double depth.  More if Willie doesn't bring his Luftwaffe stuff.  Maybe you want The Alternate Spitfire on the table next door?  It;s always planned that way as part of the Tyneside Island.
