And another thing................

Rule 4 says '4)  "Preparation" work is allowed prior to the start of the GB - this includes the cutting out and cleaning up of parts, even printing your own decals (!), but anything involving paint or glue is not allowed.

Am I allowed to cut bits off one kit in preparation for gluing them onto another one? It's not gluing or painting, but it's not actually 'cutting out' either.

I'm sure this question has come up before, but as I've never entered a 1 Week GB before I've taken much notice of the answer, but......

If it starts at 1 minute past midnight, in the small hours of Saturday morning, and ends at Midnight on the following Sunday, that's not 7 days, it's 8.........

It's actually 9 whole days.  I just counted them on my fingers.
Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs, Fri, Sat2, Sun2.

You're cutting and cleaning up parts, Kit; the rule doesn't specify which sprue, or indeed specify sprues at all, so I'll say yes.

Actually, after checking back, I found I DID enter the 1-week build in 2017 with my WAH-66 Crossbow Comanche. I can remember building it, but didn't realise I'd done it a week!

This is not clear from my point of view. Do you want zero personal topic before the start? (start of gluing/painting for models, of drawing lines for drawings)
I was considering to participate in making a drawing of slanting view for the Republic XF-12(Z and others) and I could have explained in a started personal topic which 3-view I will use, which slanting view drawing is already on the web (made by someone else) and why it does not satisfy me, and so on.
But I may stay silent without such topic till the very day of starting to draw. Tell me, as I am willing to follow the rules but I do not understand them.
