Another RW build before I embark on a few What Ifs for GBs.

Tamiya's gorgeous Beaufighter TF.X built OOB except for some wine bottle foil to give the seat belt decals some body and some kabuki tape painted red for the cannon trough covers. This was a very enjoyable build and my first attempt at the hairspray method of chipping paint.  Since my reference photos of this particular aircraft showed it pretty dirty I made her look a little war-weary.  The Mossie certainly has her beat in looks and performance, but there is just something about the Beau that I've always loved since I built an Airfix or Matchbox one when I was about 9 I think.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Tremendous job, although I swear you have shares in Dizzy's time machine company  ;) No idea how you can pull these builds of so quickly, let alone so well.

I know what you mean about the Beaufighter. Looks as though it could handle it'self in a street fight, whilst the Mosquito was built for Marquis of Queensbury  ;) Difference between a Secondary Modern and Grammar education I suppose

I think that sums up there difference in the two perfectly.  Very well put. I had a second one ordered before the wings were even on this one.  My plan for it is a USMC Operation Downfall machine.

Opens up some interesting possibilities colour scheme wise. Looking forward to it

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Your whole post had me laughing out loud Chris! ;D ;D

So very true, on all points.

That's a cracking build, it really looks the part, and 1/48 I assume, being Tamiya?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

This is a real beauty!  I like Chris' description ,  the one I read somewhere was that the Mosquito would buy you a bottle, the Beau would glass you with it.

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you....."
It  means that you read  the instruction sheet

Having built a folding wing naval version of the TF.X & having two of its Mk.VI siblings in the stash, I concur that this is an excellent kit to build & that the Beau is a stunning aircraft.

My personal aesthetic puts it ahead of the Mosquito in the looks department (but only just ;)).

Great build, AD!

Still don't know how you do it in such a short time span ... must be better at time management than I am & keep a neater workspace. :o
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!

As I've said before, he's got shares in Dizzy's time machine company
