NöNö Bärs Miniatures (Latest: RM Andrea Doria)

I now completed the first of the Fujimi ships, an IJN Akizuki class destroyer:




Size is 39mm.

Compared to the 3D printed models (the right one) , the Fujimi ones are are not so fragile and detailed, but are produced in a way that some parts are too big. But this way, they can be produced while many smaller details on the 3D printed ones are simply too small to be printed.
So they are ok, just the masts are not really nice.

This time, another ship from World of Warships, there it is called the Kriegsmarine cruiser "Hermelin". However, in reality, this ship was made after the plans of the "Kolonialkanonenboot I".

In the What-If world, this ship had a different name and story, but this will not be mentioned here of course. Not to cause chaos again.

Anyway, this little thing did print really nice, much better than many of the "bigger" ones.



As usual, the masts were added later to the print as you cannot print them that tiny.

Ship size is 33mm.

Does look good. Got the lines of a yacht if it didn't have the turrets.

Hmm, I wonder how a HMS Voldemort would look like? Without a nose?

Another of those strange WoWs designs, a modernized Bayern class battleship. So this would be a version in the end 1930s,



Size is 60 mm

Compared with the Bismarck which is much bigger.

Another of those Fujimi IJN DD Akazuki models.

As I mentioned in one of the earlier posts, I like how those tiny models are made, but I do not like the masts. They are simply too clumsy. But of course, you are not able to produce them more fragile with such an injection mold model.

So I tried to "pimp" it a bit by removing the original masts and add some new ones. And I think it looks much better now.

Another of those World of Warship "modifications", a modernized Kriegsmarine König-class battleship.



König (left) with Bayern (right) and Bismarck (background), those WW1 battleships were significant smaller than the WW2 ones.



Size is 56 mm

Impressive, and it does show the difference in size between the WWI ships and the "Super Battleships" of the late 30's.

Various reasons why, but one would have been that the WW1 ships were needed in numbers to fight the Grand Fleet in the North Sea, whilst the "Super Battleships" were seen more as commerce raiders for the vital Atlantic convoys.
