Another ship of this Fujimi set I bought a while ago, the IJN CL Oyodo.

I did not know this ship at all, but after researching it, I know this one really existed.

Used the original model, but added two planes on it

Size is 64mm.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Lets get small again, a Kriegsmarine Transport ship in camo painting.

This time, the masts/cranes are a bit more enhanced compared to the previous transports. It uses a camo that was used on Kriegsmarine Sperrbrecher in WW2 for example.

Size is 26mm.

Another Kriegsmarine modernized Bayern class, this time with a camo painting.

Size is 60mm.

The "water" and background are from the Fujimi set, this should be some South-East-Asien island coastline. As this looks very artificial, I have to see if this cannot be "pimped" in some ways.
My engineer has a few ideas, so lets see if he can construct them...

I now played a bit to see how I can improve the "land" from the Fujimi set.
So, painting it and adding some details - palm trees and some huts etc - all in 1/3000.

The palm trees are scaled down versions of a palm tree from Thinigiverse, and the huts and observatory tower are simple 3D models made with Tinkercad. Everything is printed the a Anycubic Photon.

And we have a Japanese Fleet in 1/3000 scale visiting this island somewhere in the South Pacific.

As one does  ;) ;D

They really do bring some life to the scene, well done  It reminds me of a scene from a comic story where the secret Japanese Fleet is hiding out at a remote atoll, but has been discovered by our intrepid secret agent.

Or the view from an attacking air wave... though missing all the AAA fire!

1/3000??  :o
You're braver than me - I'd probably add some flock/sawdust and call it done, in that scale!

Well, sometimes strange things happen.

The first of the 1/3000 scale models i made was the SMS Siegfried, but somehow it has vanished.
Actually, after i returned form a vacation it was gone. No idea what has happened.

So I had to redo it, and lets put it in the South-Pacific, let the Kaiser visit his colonies there...

Size of it is 28mm as it was a quite small ship.

It was so small that it slipped through a gap in your local time/space continuum, so it's still there, but just not visible any more.  ;D

Be careful your new one doesn't go the same way!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Have not made any British ships so far, so here is one:

HMS Nelson, somewhere in the South-Pacific.

This 3D model was originally made in scale, 1/6000, so printing it in 1/3000 was up scaling. And therefore, the detail level was just perfect to print and paint it. Much better than using a 3D model which was originally made for a much bigger scale.

Size is 72 mm.

Very neat

1/6000 and 1/3000 scale, are these originally intended for naval wargaming ?

I would think so. But in 1/6000 scale, they would be too small to paint for me.

I wouldn't be able to pick them up  ;D

Wargamers would probably just spray them grey in bulk.
