Wargamers would probably just spray them grey in bulk.

How boring.... :)

Yup. Naval wargaming as a whole was in my opinion, unless you enjoyed mathematics of course. As for aerial wargaming ? Don't even go there, very few did. (In fact I know know one who did ?)

After the British, lets follow something Italian, the armored cruiser Pisa, build in 1909

Again, this was a model intended to be printed in 1:3000 scale, so the detail level of the model is adjusted to it and is very good printable.
Only the masts have been added.

This one is together with a little "harbor test" to see how this could be made.

Size is 46 mm

Ah, an armoured cruiser. A design very much from the pre WWI period. I've often thought that the German pocket battleships of the 30's were a follow on to the concept.

Actually, the Greek Georgios Averof - which still exits today as a museum ship - is a modified version of this one. The Georgios Averof was only decommissioned in 1952.

I've seen that.  Fascinating period of naval history and for ship design

The Pisa?

Why do I expect its funnels to be leaning at an angle?  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

They were built raked aft but then straightened up. ;D

Two new versions of the Siegfried class have been added.

There is now one version of Hochseeflotte color scheme, one with tropical color scheme and one "old" with a black hull.

Size is 28mm.

It's interesting how in my opinion the "tropical" scheme marks a ship out as being early 1900's whilst the old black hulled scheme marks it as being Victorian/1890's ?

Really neat work

Back to Japan again, the IJN Tone.

The aircraft (5mm in size) and masts were added later.

A little IJN cruiser fleet in the South-Pacific

Size of the Tone is 68mm.

I always wanted to build something with the typical Italian air recognition markings.

So here we are, the Andrea Doria.
Again, this was a model intended to be printed in small scale, so not so many details but very print friendly. But making the red and white stripes was a bit tricky in 1/3000.

Masts were added later on, the size of it is 62 mm.
