Nice one Kit. It'll make a great 'progress' display with the rest of the PR.19s if you can get them all to one show.

We'll need a BIIIG table!

;D ;D ;D Situation normal then.

I've just had an idea about a fifth one too...................  ;)

But I'm not sire I can stand another hefty PSR session for some while!

This one's sorted, my first entry in the 'Prototype GB'.  ;D

Here you have the VERY first Meteor PR19, which has only just been disclosed by new information released from the National Archives. The full PR19 story (for those who've yet to read it  ;D) is posted here :- https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=22259.msg319672#msg319672 and I'll add an update to that in a short while and link from here.

So here's G-7-0, the first test airframe using Lockheed built U-2 wings and tail assembled to an almost standard NF14 airframe still with its two Derwent engines.

Note the Lockheed built wings and tail are still in NMF due to the great speed with which the PR19 programme was carried out.

Registered under Armstrong Whitworth's B Condition marks as G-7-0, it also carried their company badge on the nose as it was no longer an RAF aircraft. As its previous use was radar development the aircraft had extra intakes on the nose which were useful in cooling the extra instrumentation used during the PR19 flight tests.

Due to the low power of the Derwents, climbing to the altitude that the big wings made possible used up most of the fuel supply of the standard NF14, so almost all the development flights used the belly tank and the extra standard wing tanks.

That is one classy looking model. A wonderful stepping stone to the PR.19 we all know & love.

Kit, in my opinion that is the best of the "flock" so far. Especially with that G-7- registration.
Beautiful and brilliant!

Thanks indeed gentlemen, I'm surprised it's had that much appreciation, but it's very welcome.  ;D

And that, from you Jim, is praise indeed from one of my longest Whiffing pals.

That's very good Kit  and that colour scheme is quite striking. I'm not sure what I was expecting colour scheme wise, but that is just    ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

PR19_Kit

Armstrong Whitworth used a creamy grey colour on the Apollo airliner at one stage, so I 'adopted' it as their company colour.  ;D

But as the wings and tail came direct from Lockheed unpainted, as U-2s were to start with, I left them in NMF.

I'm surprised it worked so well myself.

Of all the various PR19's I think that's my favorite
Maybe it's the simplicity of it? Dunno, but I like it

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

When you get home Kit, can we have a line up of all your PR-19s in one picture?

I think he'll need a panorama shot to fit them all in, mate.

As it happens I AM home this week and I'll try for that shot.

As Brian says, finding enough space could be a problem though............ :(
