Chris

The crazy Russians went one further and combined the Tu-160 with an assault hovercraft. Well.... kinda.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Hmmmm, the Severn is a very tall boat, but then the Bear has a very tall undercarriage too.  ;D

I'll have to wait till my next trip home to see if that will work.

The Mersey class  lifeboat is designed for carriage or slipway launch, and is not a tall boat. It might be a better match IF a kit exists.  More data here:-https://rnli.org/what-we-do/lifeboats-and-stations/our-lifeboat-fleet/mersey-class-lifeboat

Hmmmm... I'm thinking rapid response airborne mini-DSRV deployment, prior to the arrival of a fully-equipped rescue flotilla?

There are loads of 1/144th scale small submarine kits.

Revell lifeboats might be worth looking at.  There's two smaller ones, Walter Rose and Verdana (that could pose as small cabin cruisers) and the larger Berlin.  They've gone under a few different names over the years.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I got all technical for s moment  last night and  came to the  conclusion, that if an assault hovercraft was to be carried and  dropped by a tu-160, it  would  need to have  its underside  buttered, so as not to flip over when  launched  :-X

If you don't mind working with resin, the company above does a range of floaty things , including MFV, barges ,speed boats , narrowboats and general pleasure craft .

So...in contrast to Chief Brody's advise, you're going to need a smaller boat.  As this mockup shows:

I love the way people are taking my off-the-cuff ridiculous suggestion seriously and working out how to do it.... ;D

Isn't that what this place is all about?  ;D ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

How about chucking the Severn out of the rear of a Blackburn  Beverley.
