Just checked my book on the Tu-95/Tu-142 and didn't find any reference to carrying lifeboats, however I did only skim through the book looking at the pictures.

And that's a reason why one shouldn't be built?  ;D ;)

Surely it's a reason why one SHOULD be built.

A Shannon might work

A USCG 45' MRB might work.  The cabin might need some refinement

I think we need a lifeboat mounted under a V bomber to close the ASR gap .

Precisely......

I was simply pointing out that it was not a real world project so ideal as a whiff

OK.  Just as long as you are not going all rivet counter on us.  We were concerned.

Any of those lifeboats could be carried by either the Tu-95Z zwilling or the Tu-95T(ophe) asymmetric if they were fitted with a suitable cradle.

Tophe, fire up your drawing automata and show us how!

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I like that idea, all I need is a 1/72-76 Shannon. Or someone with a 3D printer......

Hang on, my mate Pete (him with the teeny weeny lathe) has one.  ;)

I think we need a lifeboat mounted under a V bomber to close the ASR gap .

Or mount it on top of a Vulcan (upside down of course) and then the Vulcan simply performs a roll when it wants to drop the lifeboat
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Army of One

Lifeboats....? What's all this talk about lifeboats.....? Think attack....!! A smaller MTB....a 2 or 3 man crew with maybe a couple of torpedoes.....maybe stealth characteristics.....dropped over the horizon infront/behind targets to chase/lay in wait.....
BODY,BODY....HEAD..!!!!

IF YER HIT, YER DEAD!!!!

Hmmm, I've got an Airfix 1/72 MTB kit somewhere. I wonder if it will fit under a Shackleton?
