Seems to me to be a lot of aircraft to have one engine.  But it does look good.

My thoughts exactly when I first saw it
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The USN of the period didn't really go for BIG engines though, did they? Almost of the 'Yellow Winged Fleet' looked a bit underpowered.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Didn't they (almost) all look oversized for their engines in that era? :unsure:

Oddly, I found this rather pretty plane which belies the reputation of its manufacturer;

The Blackburn and the Bison look WOEFULLY underpowered, yes, and I agree about the Shark, it's almost elegant!

I still have a couple of the FROG Shark kits in The Loft. One day.............

Is it the size of the engine or the gigantic fuselage? The Blackburn and the Bison look like flying hotel rooms!

Rheged

Because they take so long to get anywhere, the pilot gets bored (and sometimes an attack of cramp)  The huge fuselage allows his mate to take over for a few minutes whilst the pilot  has a brisk walk around to loosen the cramped muscles.
