This build might fit here, Mods please let me know if it is out of bounds, as it was originally aimed for concurrent group build that is running elsewhere

I am pretty hopeless at backstories, envious of those who can pull it off

Immediately post post War, Lockheed wanted to get faster with a heavier hit using what tooling they had. By using many of the existing, well tried P-38 components, this aircraft came off the drawing board in 1946. Envisaged to fulfill the low level interdiction role, it used pusher technology to protect the engines a little more from ground fire which allowed a fair amount of additional firepower to be added in. Sadly this Aircraft did not fulfill this or any role as the prototype was found to be unstable in the air and on the ground and the only prototype suffered a ground loop  and was subsequently placed into storage for a review of the design.
If only they had paid more attention to initials of the Military Designation it received. Fighter Low Operations Pusher - F.L.O.P

Starting with the venerable Frog P-38, which clearly has seen better days

After a hack and slash session

A couple of sessions later has seen it pretty much done.

It depends when you actually started work on the model, and how you're going to paint it.

As a subject, it's perfect.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Reread the rules and this was started too soon. Oops.  :banghead:
Can we delete the thread please or move to In Progress/Completed, because it is nigh on finished now

NARSES2

I'll move it for you now. Done

It looks really good anyway, looking forward to seeing the finished article.

Very promising.  It's one way to solve my single boom Lightning conundrum.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Ok, this is it under paint. Not a super build from a quality point of view, but works for me

Old Wombat

Not bad, BT.

Though, I have to admit, the finish isn't quite up to what I've learned to expect from you but we all have those builds. ;)

FANTASTIC!

I love the look of it, especially the way almost the entire fuselage is filled with the landing gear!  :o
