I love the 1/25 AMT 1960 Chevrolet Custom Fleetside.  I've built two previously.  One as a Panel Delivery and one as a TV outside broadcast truck.
Both were re-engined with V8s.  A 421ci Pontiac and a 348ci Chevrolet respectively.

This time I decided to 1) build one as a ute and 2) retain the stock six cylinder engine.
So, its an out of box build?
Well no, not exactly.  I modified the dash and interior to put the steering wheel on the correct side, used the wheels and tyres from a Revell Black Cab and fitted the fuel injection induction set-up which came with the Street Machine version of the kit.

Mexican blanket seat cover is printed onto plain paper and then glued onto the kit bench seat.
Paint colours are Melbourne W Class Tram colours from an acrylic lacquer set made by SMS.

The wooden bed floor is  brush painted, then an oil wash, then masked before airbrushing the yellow and green.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Ye Gods Fred, that's one AWESOME model!

I love the fact that we can see the wooden truck bed through the chassis, never mind all the other superb detail!  :o :o :o

I know nothing about cars, real or otherwise Fred, but I can tell a good model when I see one.

Terrific sir
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Very nice job but got to admit I am more intrigued by the broadcast truck.

Where did you find a 1/24th scale TV camera or did you scratch it?

AMT Custom & Competition Parts Pack.

Contains a TV camera, lights, speakers, a torsion bar suspended hot rod chassis and an Allison V1710.  All in 1/25.

Thanks folks.

The roof of the Blue and White Panel Delivery (built for a Scale Cannonball Run Build Off) was created by stretching a stock pickup roof.  It has two transverse seams and unfortunately the filler is sinking.  Not much, but it's visible and is annoying.

Take advantage of the joys of the infinitely mutable backstory (Kit's first law: problems in construction can be glossed over with  creative ideas). It's all because they took out some bodywork strengthening metal to lighten it for the Cannonball Run............ but it seems to have backfired on them!

That's the Second Law, the First has to do with extending wings...............  ;) ;D

This I like.  Whiff minor, subtle enough that it could be real, along with the other two.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
