Optica Autogyro:

Crop the wings and add a set of rotor blades on a pylon.

STOVL Optica:

Buy three kits. Stick the ducted fans from two of them on the wingtips of the third on swivelling mounts. Use the leftovers from the first two as helicopters.

Well Tophe, the Sharkit kit is over € 19 more expensive than the Avis kit. I can't tell the difference in quality but sure will share pictures once I got the Avis kit in next month.
All right, I understand. <_<

Opticodyne.
Rotors driven by tip jets fed compressed air from the ducted fan.  Shortened wings.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Supersonic Optica:

Swept wings

Trident missile-style nose probe to control shockwaves

World's biggest afterburner

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

You really are going to lose it if I ever carry out my plan to fit a U2 with Starfighter wings...

But that means the Starfighter is available to shunt the U-2 wings onto....
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I'm still waiting for Kit to model one of the "lifting body" spacecraft with apparently NO WINGS AT ALL     https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifting_body  He probably has a Northrop  HL-10 or similar in his stash.

Years ago, I made the drawing of a less modern Optica, dated 1945: <_<

Two of them actually, one injection moulded and one vacform, plus the X-24A and B, and the M2-F2 as well.

But I've already built a Whiff with no wings at all, the BAe STAND technology demonstrator.   ;D

Ha, Ha, Ha!

Oh yes, and as far as this new kit goes. Mine went straight onto pre order as soon as the big H annonced it. A model I have always wanted.
Don't realy know why, as the only time I ever worked one in my career as an Air Traffic Controller, it was disasterous.
It was at Edinburgh Airport and the company demonstrator came up to display at the Royal Highland show at Inglestone.
The aircraft's radio was so poor that you could hardly hear what the pilot was saying.
Ingelstone show ground is only about 1/3 of a mile of the end of the short runway at Edinburgh, which all the club aircraft used, but not just that the pilot was convinced that the exemption that he had from rule 5 (the low flying rule) meant that ALL other traffic would stop for his display, even though he was operating in a special rules zone and was meant to comply with ATC instructions.
This was not a fun occasion I can tell you.
But we survived, i.e. nobody died.

Inglestone? Is that the place where they have a small car racing circuit as well?

If so I had the great pleasure of being driven round there by Jimmy McRae in his Vectra BTCC racer. I swear that at NO time we were travelling in the direction that the car was pointing.  ;D
