Paper Kosmonaut

Hi friends, I haven't been posting stuff here for a while, But just to let you know I am still around. I just am busy keeping myself together in these strange times. I am working on a documentary film, working on my dayjob, helping my GF recovering from a hip replacement, and in the leftover spare moments I sometimes find the time and try to do some paper modeling as well. At the moment I am building a paper Space Shuttle stack in 1/72 and I recently finished Douglas Bader's Spitfire in 1/33 (also in paper, of course). The Spitfire could be built showing off the Merlin engine, which was a model in itself. Here's just one photo, since it isn't a what-if.
It is a big one, however. (-;

Hopefully 'til next time and stay safe everyone.

That's paper?!  :o
That looks better than some of my attempts in plastic! Did you have to paint and decal that too? Awesome!
Looking forward to the shuttle stack, even if it's not a whiff we appreciate quality!
Tell your GF she has my sympathies. I went through a total hip replacement about two years ago. Not fun.

Hi Kerick, Thanks for the nice words! I didn't have to paint the Spitfire, the printer did that for me. I will show the Shuttle stack when I have finished it.

A Spitfire in paper is a stealth Spitfire, this is what-if! ;)
Congratulations!

The Merlin on its own would be 'WHAAAAAAT?' but installed in the Spitfire as well it's totally BOGGLING!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

As do I  Seen a fair few incredible paper models in shows on the Continent. It's always seemed to have a far greater following on the Continent then in the British Isles ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

(-: Thanks friends! The silly thing is that when I look at the builds I make I only see all the blemishes and errors I made. I know it kind of looks good from a distance but it still is hard to see it with the eyes of others.
I really needed the compliments I guess, I have been going through some worrisome moments the past months and these replies make me smile again. Thanks.

Yup, you're not alone there - it can be hard to accept the compliments when you know the flaws.
Coming to accept compliments is probably a skill in itself...
